Exploring AI grief technology that let people interact with digital versions of their lost loved ones, the film looks at what this means for those grieving and what it really does to our emotions when memory becomes something we can simulate.
At the centre of it is my own story, navigating the loss of my dad and questioning whether I’d ever want to bring him back in this way.
We filmed between London and Goa(India) simultaneously. Having to remotely direct the India interviews and speaking to Storyfile Inc., a US-based company building this tech.
What a strange, emotional, and honestly surreal experience. I’m proud of what we made.
