Audition photos can be beautiful! As a former dancer in the @nycballet, I treat them as an art form.

One thing I look forward to over the fall months is spending time in the studio with ballet students. These coaching sessions were also beautifully photographed by Brian Rushton and Costas, and included ballet icons like Violette Verdy, Patricia Wilde, Karin von Aroldingen, and many, many others. It was an absolute honor to curate, photo edit and design this book- I’ve been a lover of all things Balanchine most of my life.
