Los Angeles County Arboretum
A unique 127-acre botanical garden & historical site.

In commemoration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we salute Francis F. T. Ching whose leadership and research helped to establish the LAArboretum as a unique horticultural resource. Not only did he guide the Arboretum’s formative growth of plant introduction, he advanced major research programs that resonate today. He led the Fire Retardant Plant Project, the first major study of its kind in 1958 to investigate and test plants for their fire retardant properties. Wildfires of the late 1950s and early 1960s, including the Bel Air Fire of 1961, ravaged the area. The Arboretum distributed 200,000 pamphlets with plant recommendations to local residents.
Ching, a native of Hawaii, rose through the ranks to become director in 1970. Over the course of his distinguished career, he earned national recognition and many awards, including the prestigious Arthur Hoyt Scott Garden and Horticulture Award from Pennsylvania’s Swarthmore College. Ching was named an honorary life member of the American Association of Botanic Gardens and Arboreta, now known as the American Public Gardens Association. He retired in 1990 and died in 2012 at the age of 82.

Chow time for peachicks. Watch them following their mother and learning how to scratch and forage for food. A healthy diet for peafowl is critically important. Peafowl are omnivores with a diet composed mostly of seeds, plants, insects, small reptiles, and mammals. The Arboretum provides the peacocks, peahens and peachicks a similar environment to their native habitat in India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan where peafowl are found in open forests and wooded areas. #Peafowl #Peachick #Peahen #Peacock

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us! Whether you’re a seasoned birder or a curious explorer, the Bird’s Eye View Mission invites you to slow down and notice the vibrant life moving through our garden. This isn’t a formal scientific study—it’s an invitation to play, listen, and discover. Upon arrival, pick up your “Mission Map” at the entrance. Your mission includes five interactive challenges:
🐦The Habitat Scavenger Hunt: Find the “hidden high-rises” and “nectar refill stations” that birds depend on
🎶The 3-Minute Sound Map: Take a seat on a garden bench and use your “bird ears” to match the songs to the bird.
✏️The Guest List Tally: Keep a simple tally of every bird you spot, with a special bonus for finding our “Ambassador of the Day.”
🚏Coevolution Stations: Look for special signage that reveals the secret history between plants and birds.
🔢The Community Count: Before you leave, visit our Collective Sightings Board at the exit and add your personal tally to our daily total.
Included in paid admission. Members free. Tickets at arboretum.org

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
