⭐️25⭐️

Today is my 25th!! One quarter completed, 25 laps around the sun and here I am. Thinking about all the people I wish I could spend today with, while celebrating the ones that are here by my side 💕. I think there’s a lot of fear and hesitation that comes with aging as a trans women. There’s not too many of us that get to the gift of old age. This look is in honor of the Mother Mary, and while I may not be religious, Catholicism played a huge role in my upbringing. Not much of it ever made sense to me or felt right, but I always felt Mary and her sorrow. The older I get the more I can feel this almost divine connection to her, the idea of her. She represents my pain, my womanhood, and what I find beautiful In the world. I’ve even got her tattooed on me. Although religion has brought me a plethora of shame, guilt and hurt, I find Symbolic meaning where I can.

The look is made from EVA foam with Worbla molded over every piece to provide structure. I made every piece of the “porcelain” armor here and for my first time working with this kind of material, I’m very happy with the results! The linen skirt and bando were made by my lovely sister @thetrishacan 💕❤️
