I’m so impressed with Ditherboy. It’s so much fun and so intuitive. Takes a bit of playing and experimenting with your source image - but it’s hella fun. Swipe to see the OG drawing I did a while back but sorta gave up on - so stripped it down to make it like this low fi weird brain hallucination. No ai. Except for the Rot Cats

Story time. I was living and working in a hotel when I was a young lad, in Yorkshire UK. It was literally a Hogwarts style manor, surrounded by misty forests and probably populated with fairy folk. After one night shift - my mates and I were up to our usual shenanigans and this proper geezer of a grounds man stumbled into our quarters - slicked back his greasy barnet and in utter disbelief, enthusiastically and party perturbedly exclaimed: “ There’s a f@#k off big rave yeah! With f#@k off big speakers innit!”

For some reason, I laugh myself to sleep sometimes thinking about that.

Hello!

Random Thursday musings incoming. With threat of possible and further self alienation I have decided to post this anyway.

If I had a dime for every time someone suggested I use Ai in my workflow, i would be, a Dime-illionairre (That's a lot of dimes)

Have I lost income to Ai? Possibly? Maybe not. I don't really know. Is this a judgement on people who use Ai? Most certainly not. I have heard the "it's a tool bro" argument so many times and in a lot of ways I tend to agree. For certain things. For mundane things. For things that aren't fun. For me, making things, art, designs, creative work. It's fun. It's fulfilled me in so many ways. Especially for people who are starting their own brand, or their own label and don't have the budgets of defence contractors or fin-tech startups to do so.

But fun doesn't pay the bills. We live in interesting times. Uncertain times, and while Ai is a tool, like researching how to most efficiently shop for the week and make banging meals on a budget, there is something ominous about it replacing human creativity that I think we all know but can't quite articulate. I have tried countless times and it's an ongoing circular argument with myself until I'm awake until 4am and the birds are chirping and pissing me off - so I have stopped trying.

To all of those who have used me to make things, or hired me for jobs, when you could have easily used the latest prompting wizardry, for a fraction of the price - thank you. From the bottom of my heart I thank you.

The somewhat painful irony is that during this slow death march into a generative void of despair, I have never been more inspired to make things.
