Thank you for the OVERWHELMING response to my post about Kansas City tintypes this summer! I’m slowly making my way through the messages and emails and will do my best to respond to everyone. I plan to do a couple KC pop ups, a Lawrence one, and maybe even a St. Louis one! Please be patient with little old me as I am but one man. Thanks for the support yall ❤️

KANSAS CITY
Many people have emailed or messaged me to ask whether I’ll be available for tintypes this summer in Kansas City. The answer is YES! I do not have a studio but I’m wide open for house calls and on site tintypes throughout the summer. I’ll also be working on a few pop ups to allow for a temperature controlled more formal environment for portraits.
Looking forward to making photos together and seeing all my Midwest babies. June-September.
Reach out for booking information.
If you run a space in town that would be good for a pop up event, also reach out! Let’s talk!

Spent the entire day yesterday with this single flower
Throughout the week living in my studio, it became translucent and paper thin
By the evening time it had shriveled up and become a new version of itself

Tintype ➡️ black and white film ➡️ iPhone picture

Here is a great example of the color and tone shifts that separate a tintype from any other form.

Don’t envy someone who’s in their winning season, you have no idea what they lost in their losing season.

CW: mental health crisis

So much of what we share online is positive joyful moments and experiences, giving a skewed vision of the reality of our lives. While I enjoy sharing this view of my life, I want to humanize myself and share some real life experience. Nearly a decade ago, within the span of a year, my 8 year relationship fell apart, a family member I was extremely close to passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, and the home I lived in had a massive fire that resulted in me losing nearly everything I owned. Within months I fell into the deepest darkest hole I’ve ever known. I stopped eating, sleeping, and having the ability to leave the house or socialize entirely. I very rapidly lost 30 pounds, was having panic attacks multiple times a day, was smoking packs of cigarettes and drinking excessively every day. I saw no way out of this desperate situation and had obsessive thoughts about giving up on my life. The journey out of that hole was long and painful but I slowly crawled out. My healing process involved a lot of therapy, medication, and endless support and care from my loved ones. 8 years later I have a very deep appreciation for my life. I have a new perspective and new tools for how to handle the natural ebbs and flows of my inner emotional space.
We all have our seasons of success and our seasons of suffering. Seeing people as whole complex humans with multitudes of emotions and experiences isn’t always obvious on the surface of an instagram post. Be kind, be curious, be gentle and open minded, and give people the grace you wish to be given yourself.
Thanks for listening.

My two week residency at @oakspringgardenfoundation started yesterday. This place is filled with magic and history and of course, plants. My goal during the time I have here is to get to know the landscape and also to get up close and personal with some flowers. 1800s floral glamour shots, here we go.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
