This is GOTTWOOD RADIO.

Gottwood Radio was the result of a four-way partnership between Melodic Distraction, NAM Sound System, Gottwood Festival and Audio-Technica.

A celebration of North West radio, local creativity and hi-fidelity sound at one of the best electronic music festivals in the UK all packed into a 40ft shipping container and shipped off to Anglessey.

Showcasing over 35 North West radio hosts and DJ’s alongside so many more artists across the line up, Gottwood Radio beamed out to festival goers and over 30,000 people tuning in around the world.

A project hammering home the message that collaboration is key.

We Out Here - Visual Diary 🎨

Last month, Melodic Distraction & NAM Sound System hit the road over to We Out Here Festival at their new home in Dorset, bringing a selection of North West artists & radio hosts, alongside a stella line up programmed by the festival - with the support of Audio-Technica, our technical partners.

A visual love letter to our time at the festival, the Visual Diary offers a nostalgic look-back at the broadcasting we held on the WOH site for their 2023 edition.

Wide-eyed, poorly timed’, the debut EP by Liverpool-based Norwegian artist Maria Olsen is a deeply accomplished work. Atmospheric, intensely personal, warm and precise. From its cleanly complex production to the intimate lyrics, this EP radiates a golden glow that will emboss itself within each and every listener.

Make sure to check out Where Are The Girlbands article on the Melodic Distraction website as they review Maria Olsens debut EP!

✨ It’s Staff Picks time! ✨

There’s been loads of boss radio in September so far, so let’s take a deep dive into the team’s favourites…

On the first of the month, our very own @joshaitman had the incredibly talented @ni_maxine on Moving Through Music for some thought-provoking chat and tunes.

@albert0_giorgio graced the airwaves once again with his new series Shred It!, focusing on the incredible sounds of instrumental artists.

@dj.amberrose returned from Notting Hill Carnival with bucketloads of afrobeat, dancehall, bass, garage and energyyy!

Rolling through to Thursday, we had sick shows from @talking_drums_sound, @pyxidata and @classicjunglerollers, collectively spinning everything from balearic and disco to hyperpop and jungle.

Tuesday provided heaps of empowering black queer anthems and insightful chat from @koladetladipo, as @noiregayze returns to MDR – and it was a bittersweet farewell from @bradstank and @twoblinksiloveyou on their final Love On The Line show before Brad moves down to the Big Smoke 🥺

On Memory Control, @jamesbinary was joined by good friend and musical maestro @_dialect for some guest selections and friendly chat, followed by a throwback to @jacintadj___‘s banging Baltic Weekender set on Thursday The New Friday 💪

Finally, yesterday showed us two incredible shows with female DJs at the helm – @x_daiz_x spun allll the rollers with her Sun & Bass Festival special of Fri-Daiz, and this month @queensway____ rang in their 10th show with @isabellemettle, a singer-songwriter and producer who spun house, funky remixes and speed garage.

Rounding up another fiiiine week of guests! 🌞

On Wednesday, author of ‘Out of Space: How UK Cities Shaped Rave Culture’ (2022) Jim Ottewill (@jimio666) returns to guest on the airwaves. A music journalist, DJ and broadcaster with over a decade of industry experience, it’s always a pleasure to welcome Jim.

Later on, DJ NS is back presenting Part II on Congolese, Soukus singer, songwriter, producer, and dancer Koffi Olomide. Part I aired in June so you can listen back for a taste of what to expect!

Wednesday guests continue with Arab Music Masterclass and this month @lauramariebrown from @liverpoolarabartsfestival looks at Sudan’s music through the lens of Noori and his Dorpa Band's album Beja Power (Ostinato Records, 2022), a blend of modern soul, jazz, blues and country.

On Thursday, we welcome @4str0.wav, set to step away from her usual heavy clubby sounds and dive into the progressive, trap and wave tracks that really first got her into electronic music.

Equinox then returns with special guest and host of Traketeo on @steamradiomcr ATALAYA (@atalayafuego), whose work is currently focused on contributing to the UK’s newest wave of queer Reggaetón and Latin club rhythms. Promo photo by @sara_carpentieri_ as part of queer arts project queer.mcr

Then on Saturday, after an amazing MD show live from @gottwood, we’re joined again by Manchester DJ & @notbadforagirlmcr resident @itsthtgrl from 7pm!

That’s not all because each and every week our residents bring you brand new shows live and direct from the North West and beyond. What will you discover this week? 😱

“What LA was to my father, Liverpool was to me.”

In place of this month’s Rhythm & Values article, @jordyblythe has the pleasure of speaking with Seun Kuti directly after his spine shaking headline set at Liverpool’s own @africaoye , the UK’s largest free celebration of African music and culture. Kuti takes the time to talk about his connection to Liverpool, Movement of the People, and the state of music as we know it.

Read the full article on the Melodic Distraction website and catch the monthly Africa Oyé show at 18:00 this evening!

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
