Just yesterday, the courts heard that one, 10.5cm (approx. 4 inches) cut had gone through the jugular vein and his voice box, inflicted by a fellow prisoner who was jealous of "nonce prisoners" who were "treated like royalty" was determined by as the cause of death. While the rest of the music industry appears locked in a race to see who can charge the most for a concert ticket, Iron Maiden has been quietly playing a different game, and frontman Bruce Dickinson is happy to explain why.
Speaking to the press at the May 5 world premiere of Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition at Cineworld Leicester Square in London, Dickinson made clear that the band's long-standing policy of keeping ticket prices in check has nothing to do with charity and everything to do with who ends up at the front of the stage.
... "We want real fans to be standing there, and they don't always have loads of money." ...

Steven Tyler, the frontman of Aerosmith, is set to head to trial in the Los Angeles County Superior Court for a child sexual assault case filed against him.
Specifically, Tyler has been accused of sexually assaulting, grooming, and impregnating (and, consequently, pressuring to have an abortion) Julia Misley while she was 16-years-old and he was in his mid-20's, in the '70s. First filed in 2022, the suit alleges that Tyler exploited Misley by using "his role, status, and power as a well-known musician and rock star.”
The aim also points to Tyler allegedly admitting to his crimes in his own memoir, titled Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?, where he directly refers to Misley as his "teen bride."

Korn drummer Ray Luzier returned to his alma mater, the Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood, California, on April 18 for "Pearl Day," sharing his real-world experience with the next generation of drummers.
After growing up on a 118-acre farm in West Newton, Pennsylvania — a small town outside Pittsburgh — Luzier eventually relocated to Los Angeles in 1988 to chase a music career. But he doesn't view himself as a rockstar, rather [as transcribed by Blabbermouth]: "I'm just a guy that hangs out with rock stars. I don't really consider myself the whole rock star… Trust me, I like reaping the benefits of [being a rock star]. Private jets don't suck, I gotta say."

Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted detailed his throat cancer diagnosis in an appearance on the latest episode of Dean Delray's Let There Be Talk podcast.
When Delray asked what symptoms led to the diagnosis, the 63-year-old musician — who played with Metallica from 1986 to 2001 — said: "I didn't feel any different [before being diagnosed]. I had a little bit of an earache and a jaw ache. And my singing was being affected a tad bit [as transcribed by Blabbermouth]."
It apparently wasn't until later on in February of last year that Newsted it had progressed into something more visible, saying that when "I was [hosting] my brother and his wife [at my home] here in Florida, I felt [a lump on my neck], and then [my wife Nicole's] sitting next to me, and she goes, 'What is that?'"

Former Napalm Death guitarist Mitch Harris has launched a crowdfunding campaign for TourFlip, a new marketplace he designed and built to help bands get booked worldwide, get paid, and manage the escalating costs of touring.
"Streaming killed album income. Bands take home maybe 20 percent of what they actually earn," Harris said in a press release about the new marketplace, "Fans pay more than ever for less than ever. Promoters fail to reach bands through agents. Crews can't find steady work. So, I built TourFlip."

Jason Newsted elaborated in an exclusive clip Delray provided to Blabbermouth.net ahead of the podcast episode's release that he aimed to discuss his throat cancer diagnosis ahead of his July North American tour. More specifically, that in a week from his chat with Delray, it would be a year since he had an operation for throat cancer.
