Morning dives in Socorro have this eerie atmosphere, when the sun hasn’t risen fully and the visibility isn’t its best. But the plankton-rich water attracts these beauties. These videos will never do it justice, but there’s really nothing quite like seeing an 8m wide Oceanic Manta emerging from the blue 😍

The weirdest looking creature in the sea, 2m+ long with that wing span and so thin they almost disappear when they turn. A bit like a swimming pancake from another planet. And about as rare. Apparently the last time a Mola Mola was spotted in the Red Sea it was on the front page of the Egypt Independent. So I nearly spat out my reg when this happened. Thank you Damo @scubadiveadventures for grabbing my fins 42m below so I didn’t miss this. Twice. Mind well and truly blown 🤯🤙☀️
