After posting to this account for almost 5 years now, I think it might be time for a proper introduction...

Hi! I’m Steph, a graphic designer and illustrator based in Banff, AB, Canada. 

I grew up in the Blue Mountains (NSW, Australia) and left Aus to live overseas (Canada) for the first time in 2016. 

This trip changed everything! I fell in love with the outdoors and became much less excited by the idea of sitting in an office for 8 hours a day - why shouldn’t life be about having fun?

After living in Canada, NZ and Japan, and working in a pretty wide variety of retail and hospitality roles, I started drawing and really fell in love with graphic design. I spent almost every second of Covid lockdown watching Adobe Live tutorials on Youtube. Call me a nerd - I can handle it.

We finally made it back to Canada in 2021, where I continued working in hospitality for a couple of years, whilst still practising design on the side. I eventually weasled my way into my first full-time in-house role for a hotel group in Banff in 2022. 

Almost four years and countless projects later, I’m so excited to share that I am now self-employed. I’m absolutely terrified, but so damn excited! 

To those who have been along for the ride, thank you so damn much! I couldn’t have done it without you. 

To those who have recently joined - Hi! I’m so excited that you’re here, and I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you! 👋 ❤️

I'm so excited to share that my Birds of Paradise pattern placed 29th of 1402 entries in Spoonflower's Hothouse Florals design challenge, with a total of 169 votes! This was my first time entering a Spoonflower challenge, and honestly, the first pattern I've ever made that I've been really happy with 😁 Stoked! Just what I needed after a week of feeling some serious imposter syndrome.

One of the great things about vector patterns is that they're easily scalable, so a design that works on something as small as a onesie, can also work as a wallpaper!
