One of my favorite projects to date. “It is straight out of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe—complete with antique mirrors and keyholes,” adds project photographer @polinapigulevskyphoto

Troy Spurlin Interiors built this custom armoire to hide aSub-Zero fridge and a doorway into a hidden pantry.
See how it was done in my latest piece for @dominomag

Journalist Spotlight: Yelena Alpert 💜

Yelena is a Cleveland-based journalist covering interior design, with bylines in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, and The New York Times.

Her work goes beyond trends and roundups, focusing on the cultural history, personal stories, and unexpected angles behind design.

When she isn’t writing, you can usually find her wallpapering in her beautiful home.

Her biggest tip? Be human. A thoughtful, friendly email or genuine social connection goes a long way.

If you’re pitching design stories with depth and intention, she’s one to follow.

Journalists and PR pros: Have you worked with Yelena or pitched her before? Let us know below ⬇️

On my visit to Sedona earlier this year, I took a kundalini yoga class @laubergesedona where @luisangelcolon8 told me that breath of fire can provide as much energy as a cup of coffee. I was intrigued.

And you know what? It really does work. After class, I hiked more than 6 miles (on West Fork and Soldiers Pass trails) without hitting a midday slump.

Read about my experience in the latest essay for @yogajournal ☕️🙏

Our Desert Chairs, featured in House Beautiful.

A reimagining of the traditional stick and ladder-back.

Slender uprights. A curved back yoke.

Tapered legs that keep the profile light, without losing strength.

Each chair is built with traditional mortise and tenon joinery. No fasteners. Just solid wood, shaped and joined with purpose.

Available in a variety of wood finishes, including our signature OXALINO™

The seat is fully customizable. We can suggest upholstery, but we partner closely with your interior designer to fit the exact vision of the space.

Seen here within the Toronto home of interior designer @halimacdonaldinteriors, conceived as a contemporary cousin to William Morris’s Kelmscott Manor. A new build grounded in the language of English Arts and Crafts—leaded glass, sloped rooflines, and materials chosen to feel lived in from day one.

Available in a range of woods, with a custom upholstered seat tailored to the home.
Made to order. Built to belong.

It took me more than six weeks and dozens of interviews with former @schoolhouse and @food52 employees to bring forth this investigative research piece on private equity dismantling beloved brands. (The silver lining is that both companies are under new ownership and continue to operate) @incmagazine The Business Model invited me to speak with @robverger about how it all unfolded. Take a listen to 1 Smart Business Story.

@incmagazine takes a deep dive into what happens when private equity focuses on growth-at-all-costs instead of paying attention to company culture and the merits of good management.@schoolhouse was purchased for $48 million in 2021. Last December, the company went bankrupt and then laid off 75% of its employees without severance. Here, I report on the downfall of a beloved furniture and lighting brand. But don’t worry, there is a silver lining. Schoolhouse was purchased by @hudsonvalleylighting in February and plans to relaunch later this spring under new management.

Weekend highlight: Venturing out to Ohio City to taste the culinary escapades of @chefvinniecimino at his new @rosy.restaurant. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and was enamored by the menu, mostly because it was like something out of Choose Your Own Adventure: Restaurant Edition. Pickled Walleye cheek? Yes! It made me think of the elevated version of a Belarusian herring dish. Wagyu beef tongue? Delish and delicate. And to top it off—sourdough-infused soft serve. All those folks who loved cereal milk ice cream need to visit Cleveland, and pronto. Can’t wait to go back!

Had a full day…starting with a quiet morning at the @laubergesedona creek and all its little duckies. Then, @yegstagrammm and I had to stop at the @coffee_pot_restaurant before heading to the nearby @rovangceramics for a mini souvenir session. We made red earth clay magnets with real canyon sand. The owner, Alex, is an encyclopedia of fun Sedona facts.

Popped over to @ambientesedona for a spa treatment. I had my chakras balanced and it was the most unexpected, and wonderful, experience.

It was an easy hike day with a stop @chapelsedona before attempting to climb Cathedral Rocks—didn’t make it to the top because my sneakers have no crop and I wanted to come back in one piece.

Back at the resort, we spotted a family of javelinas, little boar-like mammals that look mythical. We saw statues of them all over Sedona and it was so cool to see them IRL. @scenicsedona

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
