supper x tengu tonight w/ magda!

emma and i so chuffed to host a proper dj innovator.. im by no means a m_nus fanboy either, infact only discovered her a couple years back while at waking life. but her set was SO much fun, and farthest thing from ‘minimal’ so i immediately began digging back through her mixes. highlights include the seminal ‘she’s a dancing machine’ ofc, fabric cd and more recently that instore for yoyaku amongst many others. and then her productions.. so so good! including that ace album as blotter trax for the late jd twitch’s optimo trax label

basically it’s all massively inspired me past year, so only right to invite her back to dublin for first time in 13 years :)

also great to have royce on support, a proper house nerd who i remember fondly from my all city days and his insatiable thirst for records and digging. he’s such a good dj, if you’re coming get down early to catch him!

would love to see you there! house nation etc but as always “no worries if not”..

when @cillianceemcee first proposed this idea, i didn’t feel worthy (still don’t!). colm is one of ireland’s top selectors, and a ridiculous fountain of music knowledge. ive had the pleasure of witnessing colm as part of his legendary @sundaytimescork trio (shoutouts @bwalsh1983 and John!) at a @thisistelephones yard party ages ago and coming away v inspired. more recently in 2022 colm and I worked together on the @fishgodeeper reissue for @arislabel, he provided a killer remix and also interviewed the lads for the insert. a proper gent, never thought we’d play together so it’s truly an honour! nervous and excited

thanks to Cillian for the shout and the belief always, one of the best people in music in this country! online tickets are sold out i think but there’ll be a few on the door

another on-land @woozy_dub x @supper.dub mash up incoming, this time with 2 supremely talented artists in @djplead and @rroxymore who Emma and I are honoured to invite to the isle of emerald for the first time at @yamamoritengu

no indulgent backstory for this one, just a simple equation of amazing tunes + great djs + inspirational people = party. also felt right to host them both considering their music has soundtracked such special moments at woozy and supper parties over the years

(make sure to check the roundup of plead and rroxymore’s back catalogue i did over on supper page, so much amazing music they’ve been responsible for!)

it all started back on april fools ‘22… olan, dundon and myself inviting dj python over to play tengu (irish debut!) after being smitten by his debut album dulce compañia on incienso. @govern3ss and @mickwoc (live) were on support, killer sold out night. then the next morning, as we were going to pick brian up for lunch, the headliner for tengu that night cancelled... so @ema_jg_ just straight up asked brian if he wanted to headline tengu again, without hesitating he said yes. rebooked his flights, later tucked into his first spice bag outside the liberty belle and then sold out his second club show in the process. he closed with ‘happiness’ by alexis jordan, which i subsequently stole as my “secret weapon” tune to great effect (overbono at seaside beano cc @paddyhaa … iykyk)

a year later, he returned to tengu with laura @akadiho_ for another fun one. big latin club bangers… then that sensational idjut boys remix of white flag by dido. the chap knows his end of night closers!!

this mix came about because @ema_jg_, @johnydonkz and I sat at a table next to Andrew Devlin at a spot in chinatown nyc back in 2022 (the rest, as they say, is irish american history), and also bc @seiva____ and @hiromakeo were so kind to invite me to play @outracena_lisboa last July opening for ramzi @phubhouti and @insta.n.taneous (@ema_jg_ ❤️ and @ritamaomenos in the other room)

the title “can’t hack the studio” refers to my inability to record a ‘studio mix’, so this one had to be a club recording instead. while definitely raw, with some dodgy moments, i reckon this catches me in truest-to-heart mode; playing all over the shop at slower tempos before gradually picking up the pace. quite the journey, but definitely the closest thing to a ‘jio sound’, whatever that may be. proud of this one :)

the title “can’t hack the studio” refers to my inability to record a ‘studio mix’, so this one had to be a club recording instead. while definitely raw, with some dodgy moments, i reckon this catches me in truest-to-heart mode; playing all over the shop at slower tempos before gradually picking up the pace. quite the journey, but definitely the closest thing to a ‘jio sound’, whatever that may be. proud of this one :)

this Bank Holiday Sunday! first @supper.dub of ‘25!! Pearson Sound All Night Long!!!

wouldn’t be like me to book a member of @hessleaudio for a @supper.dub party… but look, it’s been a minute since @pearsonsound has played solo in dublin, and this will be his first ever irish all nighter. he’s definitely a dj worth experiencing for 4 hours, his knowledge of dance music past to present is just nuts. also for selfish reasons, i’ve been collecting his records since I was a wee lad and have dieted on his Rinse FM show long before that - wouldn’t be hyperbole either to admit his tunes helped me to get into dance music!

last time he played a solo club show in Dublin was in 2018 for @fiofa____ and I’s @peardublin 3rd bday (swipe right for photos of us all… babies!). t’was a fun 2 room party in Tengu (RIP Kaizen Bar) with @caitfa and @efa_o_neill also playing.

of course, he was in Dublin back in 2022 for that mental Hessle Audio 15 bday in Tengu. himself, BUFO and Pangaea b3b all night… iykyk!

As always, would love to see you there on Sunday from 11pm at @yamamoritengu… “but no worries if not”

tonight! last @supper.dub (+ @woozy_dub) of 2024!! @djfartintheclub all night long in tengu!!!

@ema_jg_ and i are hosting an xmas party later AND YOU’RE ALL INVITED. it’s in @yamamoritengu tonight from 11pm sharp, our dear and talented friend dj fart in the club on deck from open to close. she’s a wonderful dj, so i’ve got that nagging feeling that it will be a fun one :)

only a few €15 advance tickets left, grab them via RA. any remaining tickets will be sold on the door at €18. we’re well over halfway sold out, so consider yourself warned!
