It’s been 10 years since Pomegranates - Nicolás Jaar’s unofficial/alternative soundtrack to Sergei Parajanov’s 1969 film The Color of Pomegranates - was first released. In celebration of this anniversary Other People and Urvakan team up to host the first ever live performance of Pomegranates in Yerevan on December 20-21st.

For this special event Jaar will be joined by the Gurdjieff Ensemble & Levon Eskenian alongside Juliana Berberyan and Zhanna Davtyan for improvisational sets based off of Jaar’s original compositions to be performed within the installation ”Retaining The Energy, But Losing The Image”, developed by Vincent de Belleval & Nicolás Jaar together with Pantxo Bertin & Adam Paikowsky.

To highlight the occasion we are also reissuing the album on vinyl - the first edition, a collaboration with the label Mana, having long been OOP - set for release December 5th.

📍 Al-Zawida – Ard Al-Salam Camp — 10,000 liters

These neighborhoods and camps remain among the hardest hit. Water networks are still destroyed, and families across Gaza cannot purchase or access clean water on their own. For most, these trucks are the only reliable source of drinking water, cooking water, and basic sanitation.

✨ Across all our routes The Zaynab Project is now delivering approximately 💧 250,000 liters 💧 of clean water every single WEEK — reaching families in the north, south, and central regions consistently. This scale of distribution is critical, especially as shortages continue and entire areas go days without access.

Despite claims of “stability”, nothing has improved on the ground. Our team continues revisiting these same locations because the need remains constant and urgent. Each delivery offers a brief measure of safety and stability to families who have been left with no other options.

We remain committed to sustaining these routes for as long as resources allow, ensuring that displaced families across Gaza continue to receive at least a minimal level of water security.

One of the most anticipated projects of this BBIMF edition features three exceptional musicians collaborating to present their recently released album, “Crashing Waves Dance to the Rhythm Set by the Broadcast Journalist Revealing the Tragedies of the Day.”

Charbel Haber emerged from Beirut’s post-war scene in the late 1990s, blending ambient and electroacoustic sounds with theater, film, and dance collaborations. A founding member of bands such as Scrambled Eggs and The Bunny Tylers, Haber also co-founded influential labels Those Kids Must Choke and Johnny Kafta’s Kids Menu. His recent project, A Common Misunderstanding of the Speed of Light, released on Nicolás Jaar’s Other People imprint, merges music, poetry, and photography.

Nicolas Jaar, a Chilean American artist, is acclaimed for emotionally rich and sonically adventurous music that spans ambient, experimental pop, and political soundscapes. His multifaceted output includes the collaborative band Darkside and the speculative audio series Archivos de Radio Piedras. Through his label Other People, Jaar supports experimental artists and interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of sound and critical inquiry.

Sary Moussa, also part of Beirut’s underground music scene, crafts intricate compositions that explore personal memory and regional soundscapes. His albums Imbalance and Wind, Again (2025), both on Other People, fuse ambient textures with generative sound design. A key collaborator in Lebanon’s performing arts scene, bridging electronic experimentation and deeply rooted sonic storytelling.
