If as a production manager, google sheet isn’t your daily friend then you should start making him your friend.

Don’t say I will write it later or after the end of the day, write it immediately. Don’t say I will share all expenses after the shoot ends, give daily report at ever end of the day shoot before bed. Date it, itemize it.

Be transparent. Be honest.

Do you know most people till date don’t know the duties or why a production manager is to be?

And that is why abuse is inevitable.

Your PM is not your PA, AD or what ever you have in your mind and that is why it is necessary to study the duties of all crew members.

Your PM is not suppose to be on set with zero budget to keep the set running(PM has to run to who ever is above every day on set for money to take care of the necessary things)

In the absence of PLM(Production line Manager) PM are responsible for ensuring the production run smoothly with money in their hand. And that is why you as a PM should have integrity

Your PM is not meant to be sharing food on set. The PM over sees/supervises those activities and that is why at list 2 PAs should always be on set.

Dear PM integrity is key.

As a Production Manager avoid eyes service at all cost, be yourself, do your job, know your job, be respectful but do not bow in fear, above all know your God. Know your worth and you will be worth everything you ever desire.

A Film Production Manager must think fast, stay calm in chaos, and develop thick skin.

Be respectful but firm. Value your crew. Create a safe set.

Stick to the budget. Be transparent. Account for every kobo.

And never spend your personal money on a production you don’t trust.

Professionalism is power. Never let anyone talk you down, no matter who they are.
