Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the Americans who gave everything for the country they loved.

"As we embark on the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, let us never forget the sacrifices made by so many brave patriots and fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their ultimate sacrifice made possible the freedoms we enjoy today in the greatest country on the face of the planet," said NRA Executive Vice President & CEO Doug Hamlin.

"For many of us, Memorial Day is deeply personal. We remember friends lost in the line of duty, family members, loved ones, and countless heroes whose sacrifice and service helped preserve the freedoms we hold dear," he added. "We also honor members of our staff, our Board, and our NRA family who have contributed so much in the name of freedom and, in some cases, sacrificed everything in protection and service to the United States of America."

🚨 BREAKING: The House of Representatives has passed the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act — a bill reversing the unconstitutional and troubling policy that stripped veterans of their right to keep and bear arms without due process, simply because they have been assigned a fiduciary to help manage their Department of Veterans Affairs benefits that they’ve earned through their service to our nation.

“For nearly 30 years, the Department of Veterans Affairs has stripped law-abiding veterans of their Second Amendment rights simply for needing assistance navigating their VA benefits,” said John Commerford, Executive Director of NRA-ILA.

“Thanks to the strong leadership of Speaker Mike Johnson, Chairman Mike Bost, and House Republicans, the House has passed H.R. 1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, to restore the constitutional rights of those who served our great country. While we celebrate this significant victory, our work is far from over. Every NRA member and law-abiding gun owner must immediately contact their U.S. Senators and demand they pass this critical legislation and send it to President Trump’s desk without delay.”

Call your U.S. Senators and urge them to VOTE YES on this critical piece of legislation: (202)-224-3121

This legislation will allow veterans to receive the benefits and assistance to which they are entitled by their selfless service to our country without the fear of losing their fundamental freedoms of purchasing and possessing firearms.

Abigail Spanberger has turned the commonwealth upside down for the worse, enacting the largest attack on Second Amendment rights Virginia’s ever seen.

Her administration has waged war on law-abiding Virginians and the right to keep and bear arms.

Visit the link in our bio to see how NRA is fighting back against Spanberger's assault on Second Amendment rights.

The @nytimes may have thrown a wrench into anti-gun politicians' plan to ban America's rifle when they admitted the AR-15 rifle is common use.

This matters because in Heller v. District of Columbia, the Supreme Court ruled the 2nd Amendment protects all firearms in common use.

See the significance of this wording and how it could change firearm policy at the link in our bio.

🚨 A petition has been filed asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the NRA-supported case Kipke v. Moore, challenging Maryland’s sweeping post-Bruen carry restrictions.

These restrictions include bans on carrying in a myriad of public locations, such as state parks and forests and on public transportation.

The petition argues lower courts are gutting the right to bear arms and undermining Bruen by upholding sweeping “sensitive place” bans, urging SCOTUS to reaffirm Bruen and clarify the limits on carry restrictions.

Learn about all the "sensitive locations" and what the NRA is doing to challenge it at the link in our bio.

Even @nyt_nyc admits AKs and similar semi-auto platforms are “ubiquitous” in the U.S. firearms marketplace — because they are commonly owned by law-abiding Americans across the country.

That reality completely undermines the gun control narrative.

The term “assault weapon” was designed to confuse Americans into supporting gun control.

@colionnoir breaks down the history behind the anti-gun talking point and highlights how Virginia’s sweeping firearm ban is already being challenged in court by the NRA.

NRA-ILA Executive Director John Commerford wrote to The Washington Post discussing how to address gun violence, and the answer is not firearm bans.

What America needs are tough-on-crime policies and enactment of meaningful security measures, which includes armed citizens.

"The answer to gun violence is not government steering citizens toward firearms that bureaucrats deem more acceptable."
