The second post of our new Substack is live: Old Ways, New Mom by @kellyleblancrd — a working mom and Registered Dietitian at Oldways with 10+ years of culinary nutrition experience
This week, Kelly shares her experience navigating complementary feeding, allergens and baby-led weaning...Plus a winning recipe that the whole family loved.
"As an impatient eldest daughter, a “don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good” attitude drives my life and most of my decision making. Do the best you can with what you have, then move on. But when it came to feeding my own child, something that is so ingrained in my life and career, I had a well of perfectionism that I could not shake. I needed to find the fun."

The Mediterranean Diet has been named the Best Overall Diet by U.S. News & World Report every year since 2018, and its emphasis is on seafood for a main protein source.
Seafood is brain food; it provides us with DHA, which is essential for brain health!
Here are a few of our favorite kinds of fish, and why we like them.

FANtastic...This is how I will remember my friend, Aglaia Kremezi. Sadly, Aglaia’s husband Costas Moraitis wrote me that she is now gone – she died in Athens this morning after a battle with cancer.
For those of you who know Aglaia, you can just hear her saying FANtastic, which is what she always said when she tasted something she loved, or visited a place worth visiting or discovered a product that was perfect.
It’s how I describe her. FANtastic.
In addition to being a friend, Aglaia had an outsized influence on Oldways.
Thank you – efkaristo – Aglaia. FANtastic. I will miss you.

One activity featured in our month-long Mediterranean Table Challenge is to learn about traditional dairy and how it fits into heritage diets.
In the Mediterranean, dairy products were often fermented to prolong their shelf life. Fermentation is process by which "friendly bacteria" prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.
Common fermented dairy products in the Mediterranean include yogurt, such as Greek Yogurt and labneh as well as traditional artisan cheeses, such as Feta, Manchego, Parmigiano Reggiano and Halloumi.

Now that we’re about halfway through May, we are excited to see that many of you have been trying out the Mediterranean Table Challenge activities, and we hope you’re having fun with them so far!
The 15th activity out of the 31, is a selfless one! To donate something to a food pantry if you can; some ideas include whole grains, canned seafood or canned beans. Anything counts!
Sharing food with others — even if they don’t sit at your table — is acting in the spirit of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

At its heart, the Mediterranean diet is a family-centered eating pattern that people of all ages can partake in.
Research shows that eating a Mediterranean diet during pregnancy is linked with beneficial outcomes for babies, including improved neurodevelopment. Once your little one has arrived and is ready to start weaning, the Mediterranean diet is a wonderful jumping off point to steer you towards nutritious foods that can help establish lifelong habits of healthy eating and cultivate a jovial atmosphere of positive dining experiences.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
Prioritizes secure, anonymous browsing without requiring login credentials.
Users can view public stories by simply entering a username—no account needed.
Downloads photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4) with ease.
The service is free to use.
Content from private accounts can only be accessed by followers.
Files are for personal or educational use only and must comply with copyright rules.
