Opening: ‘Where We Land’
OSCAM presents ‘Where We Land’, the first solo exhibition by Paramaribo-based painter Vanity Wezer. Opening on June 11, 2026, as part of the Young OSCAM Art Kitchen (YOAK), the exhibition explores how place shapes the way we inhabit ourselves, experience time, and find meaning in the everyday. In figurative paintings, Wezer captures moments of landing: the quiet, everyday rhythms of life in Suriname.
Working with acrylic on canvas, she brings together scenes from her daily life and the natural environment of Suriname. Her paintings reflect the climate, landscape, and rhythm of the country, showing how surroundings influence the way we experience time and inhabit space.
As a self-taught painter and part of the interdisciplinary creative collective LFMC (Lowrey Foley McClane), Wezer explores how heritage lives on in gestures, routines, silences, and the spaces we occupy. Suriname becomes tangible in the humidity, light, and stillness of her work.

Seen by OSCAM: Venice Biennale
This week, OSCAM was present during the preview of 61st Venice Biennale. Through our own lens, we captured the moments that stayed with us. We were inspired by so many amazing artists that powerfully center diaspora, identity, and cultural narratives. Drawing from personal experiences and heritage, they create works that invite reflection, recognition, and connection.
A special thanks to all the artists putting the diaspora on the map during this years’ edition.
Who we saw:
1. BigChief Demond Melancon
2. Otobong Nkanga
3. Daniel Lind-Ramos
4. Ebony G. Patterson
5. Tegene Kunbi
6. Minor Music at the End of the World - Saidiya Hartman & Sarah Benson

Recap Bloom as Ritual: Guided Flower Arrangement Workshop
We are still holding onto the beauty of the flower arrangement workshop with Paula’s Bloemenstudio on April 11. Thank you to L’Occitane (@loccitane) and Tony’s Chocolonely (@tonyschocolonely_nl) for the chocolate and goody bags that made the day feel even more memorable. We hope you can carry the essence of this exhibition with you, just like the participants did in that moment.
Today was the last day of Watering a Black Garden. Our last exhibition at this location brought together the works of 8 amazing female and non-binary artists from the African diaspora in collaboration with ArtNoir (@artnoirco). We are so grateful to everyone who came by, whether during the opening, a workshop, or just on another day at OSCAM.
We hope to see you again at our new location from May 23 with the exhibition Joy Soldiers: The Language by Black Childish.

Opening: ‘Joy Soldiers: The Language’
OSCAM presents ‘Joy Soldiers: The Language’, a solo exhibition by Mickaël Mehala, known as Black Childish. Opening on May 23, 2026, as part of the launch of OSCAM’s new location, the exhibition reimagines toy soldiers as symbols of self-expression, identity, and community. Drawing from the African diaspora and Black pop culture, Black Childish creates large-scale works that highlight the visibility and strength of everyday heroes.
Through digital sculpture, illustration, and 3D-printed works, he transforms traditional symbols of conflict into expressions of pride and representation. His practice blends 2D and 3D techniques, rooted in Caribbean heritage and global influences, expanding the possibilities of digital art while centering themes of cultural identity and Black representation.

Featuring Ella Ezeike, Michelle Janssen, Bernice Mulenga, Treshna Ballantine, Goldiie, and Sonia Ihuma, moderated by Shaquille Joy.
Expect candid conversation, good energy. If you were able to secure a spot, we’ll see you there.

Recap Bloom as Ritual: Guided Flower Arrangement Workshop
On April 11, we gathered for a moment of care during the Bloom as Ritual workshop, hosted by Paula’s Bloemenstudio (@paula.bloemenstudio). In the spirit of “Watering a Black Garden”, participants came together to explore flowers as vessels of connection, joy, and intentional creation. There was room for both learning and expression, with each bouquet becoming a living piece of the exhibition beyond the moment.
A special thank you to L’Occitane (@loccitane) and Tony’s Chocolonely (@tonyschocolonely_nl) for adding extra care and sweetness, helping make this gathering even more special.
With just one week left to experience “Watering a Black Garden”, we warmly invite you to visit and immerse yourself while you still can.
And while this Saturday’s cyanotype workshop by Bernice Mulenga is already sold out, we’re excited for another beautiful gathering. We hope to see you soon at OSCAM.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
