Karen Budd-Falen, a top Interior official who literally represented the cattle producers suing to block these permits before joining the administration, was granted a waiver to shape this exact policy. That's not draining the swamp. That's filling it with cows. This bison fight is just the latest move in a systematic dismantling of environmental protections by the trump administration, which has rolled back clean water rules, gutted national monument boundaries, fast-tracked drilling on public lands, and handed industry the keys to landscapes that took generations to protect.
