Hi fam, Stellar here. In the wake of the news regarding the Church Key acquisition yesterday and the overwhelmingly positive response thus far, I wanted to take a moment to say a few things about what this next step means.
 
First, just wow. We are absolutely thrilled to have acquired the Church Key space and couldn’t think up a more ideal situation as we take this leap into our first brick and mortar adventure, where we can deepen the Otherwise identity and contribute to the uniquely vibrant neighborhood.
 
The Church Key has been my home for nearly all of my adult life. What started out as my favorite place to read a book and discover cool beers, soon became my passion and purpose. I was 21 years old when Jason, @benjaminandrewssf , and @mateodecoco believed in me enough to stick me behind the bar and guide me on my path. Twelve years later, after co-founding a brewery of my own, it feels as though my two dreams have intertwined in a beautiful, holistic marriage ✨
 
Moving forward, I vow to continue to build community, maintain inclusivity, and serve the best products that I possibly can to the amazing people of North Beach and beyond.
 
Some things to expect and look forward to: A healthy variety of GF beers, a safe space for those with any gluten sensitivities, GF and plant-based bites, a permanent (and heated) parklet with regular live entertainment, welcoming and knowledgeable staff, expertly curated tunes (including the continuation of Beer with Soul on Wednesdays with @_booker_d ), a renovated mezzanine, and more. And don’t worry, we WILL still serve Underberg 😉
 
What does this mean for the Church Key? I have been getting asked this a lot so I feel like I should say it here, we will be changing the name to Otherwise Brewing. In the next 2 months we will be transitioning into the new concept. For now the bar is operational as the Church Key, as you know it. Please feel free to come by and say hello during the last days before we refresh.
 
We will be announcing some Church Key last call celebrations, as well as our soft and grand openings very soon. Please stay tuned 👀

We are over the freaking moon to formally announce our acquisition of @churchkeysf which is slated to become the official taproom for Otherwise Brewing, set to transition in January 2024 🥳

We have big plans to update the space and put the Otherwise stamp on it, while also maintaining the beloved intimate nature that has become the signature of the Church Key 🍻

We know you may have questions and concerns, and we are here to answer them. Look out for a detailed statement very soon from us, where we will share our plans in more depth!
