We are incredibly disappointed by this week’s decision by Tower Hamlets, who emphasised what a difficult decision it was to make. This incident is not a reflection of the many safe and inclusive events the venue hosts for Londoners each month and has done over many years. We completely dispute any claims that the venue is gang affiliated. We do acknowledge that security errors were made in relation to this incident, which we take full responsibility for and we will be working closely with the relevant authorities to address these issues. We will be appealing the decision and would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

We need your voice! Save Oval Space! Oval Space is an important cultural venue In London. Since opening in 2013, it has quickly developed a reputation as a key part of London’s cultural tapestry.

If you are a patron of Oval Space or support the Night Time Economy in London and across the UK, we need you to support this campaign to save Oval Space which is under threat, and may lose its license.

We need the everyone to send representation in suppport of Oval Space through our preformatted letter which highlights the importance of these spaces in major cities across the country.

You can edit the letter if you feel you need to add a personal touch, but it is important that you include your name and address in support for the representation to be logged.

When these businesses are gone they are gone forever!!

Send a mail to licensing@towerhamlets.gov.uk explaining why you would want to support us and see us continue to bring the most culturally diverse events to East London. Mails must be received no later than 21st September.

TOMORROW: @deltasleepband land at oval space for their biggest UK gig yet with support from @thephysicshouseband.

The math-rock aficionados will kick off their UK tour fresh off returning from the Americas after a successful bout of gigs across the water.

Tonight - the wait is over as @Secretsundaze pull out all the stops to celebrate their 20th birthday. They play host to sixteen acts across three dancefloors: Oval Space, Oval Space Terrace and The Pickle Factory for a bumper all-day-all-night session. Highlights include New York House Music legend Joe Claussell, live performances from Japanese composer Soichi Terada and Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, as well as special sets planned by a wealth of talented DJs including Sassy J, Ciel, anu and more.

We will be hearing from visual artist and illustration aficionado @joyyamusangie; animator and illustrator @josephmelhuish; graphic designer @annam.lls; and photographer @jaykammy. This lovely bunch will be speaking on some recent highlights from their illustrious careers, including creating exhibitions on gender euphoria to illustrating and animating wild bodies on the dance floor.
