Anna Gregor, Noah Trapolino, and Will Conway on Gilles Deleuze’s recently translated and transcribed lectures On Painting (1981).

Will Conway is a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at Stony Brook University whose investigations focus on eugenic modernity, biopolitics, the anarchy of abnormality, and the apparatus of disability. He has written extensively on the works of Gilles Deleuze as well as the concepts of creation and the creative act in Western philosophy. Most of Will’s work can be found at revoltingbodies.com.

Noah Louis Trapolino (b. 1998) is a self-taught artist with an emphasis in erotic figuration based in Brooklyn, NY. Noah was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and is the eldest of eight siblings. Studying finance and philosophy at the University of Texas in Austin, Trapolino pursued art as a way to bridge the gap between two seemingly distinct fields of academia. He has continued to study the overlap of such worlds through a part time research program in political-theology, which informs his works. His exploration of theory (across aesthetics and history) seeks to ground his technique and imagery in a historically and politically conscious lineage.

Anna Gregor is a painter and writer about paintings. She earned her BFA in 2019 from Parsons The New School for Design (New York, NY) and her MFA in Painting in 2025 from CUNY Hunter College (New York, NY). Gregor’s work has been shown in three solo shows, including “Double Space” at D. D. D. D. (2024), and in various group exhibitions. Her essays have been published in Caesura Magazine, Two Coats of Paint, and the Revenant Quarterly. She teaches drawing at Fordham University and painting at Hunter College.

Join Anna Gregor, Noah Trapolino, and Will Conway for a discussion on Gilles Deleuze’s recently translated and transcribed lectures On Painting (1981). The panelists will briefly expound the central concepts of the text before focusing on their relevance to and implications for the problems facing painting today, nearly fifty years later.

The talk will be held April 25th from 5-6pm at D. D. D. D.

While a familiarity with Deleuze’s philosophy is not necessary, selections from the text are available in our bio for those who want to read before.

Will Conway is a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at Stony Brook University whose investigations focus on eugenic modernity, biopolitics, the anarchy of abnormality, and the apparatus of disability. He has written extensively on the works of Gilles Deleuze as well as the concepts of creation and the creative act in Western philosophy. Most of Will’s work can be found at revoltingbodies.com.

Noah Louis Trapolino (b. 1998) is a self-taught artist with an emphasis in erotic figuration based in Brooklyn, NY. Noah was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and is the eldest of eight siblings. Studying finance and philosophy at the University of Texas in Austin, Trapolino pursued art as a way to bridge the gap between two seemingly distinct fields of academia. He has continued to study the overlap of such worlds through a part time research program in political-theology, which informs his works. His exploration of theory (across aesthetics and history) seeks to ground his technique and imagery in a historically and politically conscious lineage.

Anna Gregor is a painter and writer about paintings. She earned her BFA in 2019 from Parsons The New School for Design (New York, NY) and her MFA in Painting in 2025 from CUNY Hunter College (New York, NY). Gregor’s work has been shown in three solo shows, including “Double Space” at D. D. D. D. (2024), and in various group exhibitions. Her essays have been published in Caesura Magazine, Two Coats of Paint, and the Revenant Quarterly. She teaches drawing at Fordham University and painting at Hunter College.
