What's a DRC and how
can it help me?
• A place you can go to register with someone in person.

• A place to talk with someone about your specific
situation.

• Get application status updates.

• SBA (Small Business Administration) will be there to
talk with people about low interest loans that are
available to individuals impacted by the fires.
I know people are hesitant to get a loan, but it is
highly recommended to at least talk with someone
about what that looks like. This is most often one of
the fastest ways to recovery, and in the long run a
really good option.
• Other voluntary agencies and support partners may
be present at DRC locations.

People are encouraged to download the FEMA App.
With the app, you can:
• Locate DRCs, shelters, & other pop-up assistance
centers.
• Register/start your application process.
• Upload documents to your
applications
• See status updates.

It's a good idea to download the app if you have an
active registration. Also at the DRC they can upload
your documents if you are unable to do so.

Information from my sister (FEMA Region 9):

There is a federal declaration for disaster for individuals who lost their homes.

Step 1: If insured, file that claim immediately.

Step 2: Insured or not insured, doesn't matter. You can register with FEMA for assistance.

If your ID matches your address and/or you filed your last tax return using the damaged dwelling address, you can register for assistance on DisasterAssistance.gov

If not, or if you had trouble with registering online, you can call
1-800-621-3362 and talk to someone who can assist you.
