We are heartbroken by the passing of Honorary Board Member Jason Collins.

Jason was a trailblazer whose courage transformed sports and LGBTQ+ visibility, but to the Point community he was also a dedicated champion for LGBTQ+ students and Scholars. He generously shared his time, voice, and encouragement with our community, inspiring countless young people through his honesty, humility, and strength.

Even while facing his own health challenges, Jason continued supporting Point Scholars and our mission. As one Point Alum shared: “He was helping Point Scholars till the end.”

We are profoundly grateful for Jason’s leadership, generosity, and lasting impact. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the futures he helped shape.

Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, and all who are grieving this tremendous loss.
