For example in Transactions: tag your sales by their point of origin (i.e. Art fair, Email blast, Instagram post, Gallery visit). At the end of the year, determine where the majority of your sales originate from and consdier putting more resources towards that end.

Also, relate transactions to one another, creating the “sales pipeline.” Take an offer, convert to a Hold, Sale, Shipping, etc. Later, examine how many Holds turn into Sales and determine how effective it is to allow clients to reserve works.

In Contacts: Tag your clients everything from VIP to specifics interests such as outdoor sculpture, text, impasto, female identifying artists, and so on. There is no limit on the numbers of tags you can use, so be thoughtful and creative in order to find those potential collectors later. Also tag your vendors, i.e. Shippers, International Shippers, Framers, Art handlers etc.

Artworks: Tag by subject, aesthetic,theme or style: i.e. Still Life, graphic, environmental, or gestural.

Artists: Tag your artists by information related to them or their practice, such as demographic, style, theme, and genre. Later you can search artwork by these terms. (You can search atwork not only by their own tags but also by the artist tags. For example, find works by artists that deal with socio-politial themes.)
