Music on your television, every night on ABC TV + ABC Entertains
Having just graced Aussie stages with their wild and varied setlists, we thought we’d replay alt-metal legends Deftones’ 2003 blue rage ep!
Filmed back when Deftones toured Australia as part of the Big Day Out festival lineup (RIP), join bandmates Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham and Frank Delgado as they share their top tier music videos. For the fans that weren’t even alive when this episode was first recorded, this is your chance to witness a true slice of music history!
Tell your weekend plans to shove it and tune into ABC Entertains this Friday night from 11:33pm or stream live via iview!
Calling all groove heads, Mickey Cavanagh, a.k.a. Cavs, is stepping out from behind the kit to take his place on the rage red couch!
The King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard drummer is joining us to celebrate the release of Sojourn, his second solo album of instrumental spiritual jazz, prog and Krautrock. Plus, he's bringing Sojourn's producer and fellow drummer Jim Rindfleish of Melbourne jazz-fusion outfit Mildlife along for the... ride (ba-dum-tss).
Together the pair have lined up a playlist spanning their drumming influences, including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Kraftwerk, Earth Wind & Fire, Talking Heads, The Police and plenty more.
Hit it this Saturday from 10:30am and 10:30pm on ABC TV or stream live on ABC iview.

Have you ever woken up and for a split second have no idea where you are? This week’s Wild One from Sydney locals Kate Moth captures that energy.
Kate Moth vocalist Matty finds himself floating through Sydney streets from the comfort of his own bed in the bands newest music video for ‘Too Late To Go Outside’. Shot on a shoe-string budget without special effects, the video recreates the dream-like experience of falling in and out of consciousness and the inner conflict of wanting to face the outside world. Or not.
“When we first wrote the song we knew it had a nocturnal feeling, and Matty’s vocals fell into this kind of not-happy-not-sad sleepy persona” explains co-director and Kate Moth guitarist Finbar Watson. “These increasingly early sunsets as the season changes got thinking about a half-dazed man, floating the streets of the city, seeing friends emerge from streetcorners while he can’t bring himself to get out of bed. But clearly the bed had other plans…”
It’s thanks to the co-directorial expertise of Darwin Schulze that the team opted to forgo any SFX and instead shoot everything IRL. Finbar explains “Darwin is the master of practical effects so we decided absolutely no green screens and we were gonna do this for real. Him and our Production Designer Kate Sowada built the bed in a trailer while our guitarist drove it around hoping not to get pulled over. So far there have been no fines in the mail and the guy who we rented the car from hasn’t made a peep. Yet.”

🕊️ RIPF 🕊️
For this week’s Feature Video, the Private Function Cinematic Universe flashes before our eyes as characters and pork rolls from music videos past and present mark the end of their life together as a band.
It’s a pretty rare that a person gets to attend their own funeral, but bandmates Chris Penney, Milla Holland, Aidan McDonald, Anthony Biancofiore, Lauren Hester, and James Macleod got just about as close as possible. Directed by PF’s very own Aidan, it’s a sombre trip down memory lane marked by Private Functions classic DIY punk attitude - an attitude that scored them five Feature Videos wins over their lifetime.
In a letter sent to rage titled 'last rites', Aidan writes; “I wanted to draw out raw emotions and humour by being a touch more serious than you’re used to seeing from a PF clip. We tried to pepper in as many references as we possibly could then leave you right where it all began with the familiar sentiment of 'fuck you'.”
We reached out to the rest of the band for comment, but sadly they are no longer with us.
You might want to run a hot bath before watching this week's Feature Video from Naarm-based trio Dumbhead.
‘White Knuckles’ songwriter Billie Raffety hadn’t considered that the filming of its music video would end in being drenched in 15 litres of lube and paint, naked, in an abandoned house somewhere far out east of Melbourne… But that's just what happens when you team up with director Finn Morris. Right? They explain “it was the sort of idea you probably shouldn’t ask an actor to do without a generous budget to soften the proposition, so naturally the experience stayed in-house.”
“The video for ‘White Knuckles’ began as a seed formed by Finn and [bandmate] Maayan - a duo whose creative partnership I deeply respect and hold a great deal of love for. Zach and I arrived after many of the early developments had already unfolded, mostly with an “alright then, let’s do this properly” attitude… I hadn’t been part of something like this before. It made me think young artists are possibly the most dangerous people to give imagination to - in the best sense. The concept kept shedding its skin as it came into being. Each day it became something slightly more unruly, more alive. We had to let go of expectations, comfort zones, and the need to fully control the outcome.”
“From the jump, black and white was pitched as the backbone of the video” says director Finn. “Maayan came to me with references from German Expressionist-inspired videos, including Hijack by A$AP Rocky. I had also recently seen Wings of Desire and Dune: Part Two, both of which harness black and white as a stylised tool in completely different ways. In particular, Dune’s use of infrared cameras. I’m a massive nerd and when I first saw those scenes I immediately started digging into how they were achieved.”

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
