Creating content has taught me a lot. About a year and a half ago, I randomly posted a video of my family and I and apparently a lot of people (aside from myself) found it cute and interesting. To me, this is just my boring ol’ life and my regular ass family. It wasn’t until a friend of mine told me I had a unique upbringing that I was like…umm I do?

I rarely ever mention in real life that I’m even adopted because it’s such a non-issue in my day to day. Of course people approach me (as they likely do to all tall women) and ask the famed question “where did you get your height?” —that usually opens the door to a deeper discussion if I don’t feel like lying that day and saying “umm my dad”

Creating content isn’t for the weak. I’ve had people ask me questions I haven’t even asked myself. You’ll have people accuse you of things you never even considered you’d be accused of —especially when it comes to posting about race and culture.

But this is my story too & my perspective…it’s been really great getting to know myself more through creating content—and it’s been interesting hearing comments from all perspectives.

I also didn’t realize how many people have been touched and helped thru their own journey of adoption. I didn’t realize so many people really think adoption is like raising someone else’s kid. Wow. If I can help show yall a different perspective, that’s one of many reasons I’ll keep sharing!
