Exactly a year ago, I quit my corporate job as a Data Analyst and moved out of LA after 15 years.

I was lost, feeling frustrated since I felt like I haven’t found my purpose in life, and was unhappy with the situation I was in.

Realizing that “nothing changes if nothing changes”, I took a risk by starting my own influencer management agency for Asian American creators at 22 years old.

Throughout this journey, I faced my most challenging year to date:
❌ Sacrificed my personal life moving away from my hometown to build @sherpahmedia
❌ Constantly wondered if what we were building was going to work
❌ Had one of the biggest burnouts I’ve ever experienced
❌ Struggled to find healthy work-life balance for sustainability
❌ Felt lonely building this business alone

One year later, and after many ups and downs, we’ve:
💜 Generated over $300,000 for our creators
💜 Reached $100,000 profit in our first year
💜 Partnered with creators I’ve looked up to
💜 Worked with the biggest brands in the world
💜 Brought on team members with the same mission

It’s truly possible to change your life in 365 days…

I hope year 1 of my journey can inspire at least one person to take action on the thing they’ve always dreamt of pursuing, or even taking the first steps to find their passion.

if I could go back to my 22-year-old self, I’d tell him one thing:

✽ Don’t set goals rooted in the flesh.

there’s nothing wrong with wanting more,

but the INTENTION behind it matters most:

why do we actually want more money?
why do we actually want more followers?
why do we actually want more freedom?

if the honest answer is to feed our ego or selfish desires,

that’s the problem…

money, fame, and status aren’t the enemy,

the real enemy is our own heart,

because we wrestle with worldly desires every single day.

God’s goals will never be about glorifying us,

they’ll be about glorifying HIM

and the crazy thing is,

His plan is always better than the one we could dream up ourselves

a missed opportunity isn’t failure, it’s God’s redirection

looking back on the past 1.5 years of building @sherpahmedia, I realized one thing:

I took God’s blessings for granted.

from not capitalizing on social media to slowly operating based on money over value,

I watched what He gave me get stripped away as quickly as it came.

because I wasn’t truly ready for His blessings.

2025 has tested me deeply.

I’ve faced some of the hardest moments of my life this year,

but they’ve come with the most valuable lessons I never want to re-learn.

most importantly,

I’m still learning to surrender and fully trust God’s plan and timing.

even though it’s a daily battle to trust what He has for me,

I’m ready to take on entrepreneurship again through our ad agency, @byname.io,

day 30 of making $100,000 in 30 days:
🏁THE 100K SPRINT🏁

for the past 30 days, I put myself through the trenches in what has been by far the most intense challenge of my life: hard-scaling my business, @sherpahmedia , in one month while documenting every single second of it.

in one month, we:
🟣 Signed 7 new creators to our non-exclusive service, SHERPAH CREATOR NETWORK, now hosting a roster of Asian creators with a combined following of 13.5 million
🟣 Contracted $35,000 in revenue in one month (we just signed a $15,000 deal on the last day of the month :) )
🟣 Launched our first campaign for our non-exclusive roster with @coffeemeetsbagel for an AAPI project
🟣 Hired and onboarded our first full-time hire
🟣 Currently negotiating 6 more deals in the pipeline (the most we’ve ever had at one time)
🟣 Posted 1 video, every single day
🟣 Setup the framework within the business to comfortably begin to scale harder
🟣 Learned so much about myself as an entrepreneur, leader, and human, to continue to build this dream into reality

none of this would’ve been possible without the support from everyone joining along my journey:

what i learned posting 30 days in a row from the content side:

💫 ive always respected the hustle and grind content creators have to go through to build their platform

🌟 with this challenge coming to a close, ive only gained more respect for them as i understand their pain points and struggles first hand

🔥 as someone who works on the business side of the creator industry, i believe throwing myself into the shoes of my clients couldn’t have been a better way to empathize with them even more, making me want to take care of my creators as much as possible.

❗️creators are meant to inspire, entertain, and educate, but how can they do that if they aren’t able to sustain a lifestyle to support this?

💜 this is hopefully where i can come in and ensure my creators are set up so they can solely focus on their passion of inspiring, entertaining and educating without worrying financially

💡i feel like ive gained a unique experience as i’ll be able to combine my knowledge on the business side of the creator economy with everything i continue to learn about through my content journey to ultimately create the best experience and business possible that helps creators.
