SGCI
Connecting artists in printmaking

SGCI Biennial Conference 2027--Confluence
October 13-17th, 2027
Conference Site now available. Link in bio
Conference Abstract:
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is made up of 90 unique and vibrant neighborhoods, each with its own history, diversity, and character. It is a city where two rivers merge into a third, where place and history have been shaped by the physical barriers and intersections of those rivers, and where smaller communities combine to form a dynamic and engaging whole.
Confluence (SGCI 2027) is dedicated to exploring the intersection of process, labor, and place, while providing a dynamic and practical forum for the global printmaking community. We invite you to experience Pittsburgh’s rich printmaking ecosystem as we move through a wide range of institutions (both academic and grassroots) that help define the city’s creative landscape. From Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh to the iconic Andy Warhol Museum, along with vital community organizations and the print shops in between, the conference highlights the full breadth of Pittsburgh’s print culture.
We are especially excited to introduce new, specialized programming designed for collectors, curators, and art historians, expanding opportunities for dialogue, discovery, and professional connection. Confluence is committed to creating a memorable, inclusive, and accessible event that honors the enduring power of printmaking while fostering meaningful collaborations on both local and international levels.
We invite you to be part of the confluence - where diverse voices, practices, and perspectives come together in a shared celebration of printmaking, learning, and community.

Myles Calvert @squirrelpigeonfish and Mika Aono @mika.aono from Atelier Ghostbirds statement for the jurying:
“As jurors for Border-line(s), we were struck by the breadth and depth of responses to the call. The theme invited artists to approach boundaries in all their forms—geographic, emotional, psychological, and cultural—and the submissions reflected this with remarkable sensitivity and imagination. Choosing only sixteen works from such a strong and diverse pool was a difficult task. Many pieces spoke with quiet intensity or deep introspection, while others approached the subject with wit, experimentation, or gentle mischief.
We found ourselves drawn to artists who treat boundaries less like rigid fences and more like curious, unruly lines—ones that smudge, wander, and sometimes refuse to stay put. The selected works span a wide range of printmaking practices, traditional and experimental, each interrogating or embracing the idea of limits in its own way. Together, they chart a terrain where edges blur, meanings shift, and the in-between emerges as a potent space for reflection, questioning, and possibility.
It is an absolute joy and an honor to share this body of work at Atelier Ghostbirds in Caldas da Rainha, within a community that thrives on dialogue and creative exchange. For many of these artists, the exhibition marks a first encounter with new viewers and new landscapes, bridging continents and perspectives through the language of printmaking. We hope these works continue to spark conversations about borders: how they define, divide, and ultimately connect us.”

The UK is calling!
SGCI’s Myles Calvert took time away from vacation and residency work to build new connections for future international SGCI programming across the UK printmaking community.
A thank you to East London Printmakers, the incredible volunteer-run studio founded in 1998, for opening their doors and sharing their expansive screenprinting and intaglio facilities with us. Special thanks to Claire for the generous tour, and to all tagged members featured in the photos!
Another unforgettable stop: John Purcell Paper — an absolute treasure trove for printmakers. This Brixton warehouse is packed with paper goodness just steps from Electric Avenue. Request a price list ahead of time so you can plan before diving in. They also ship internationally!
A personal highlight of the trip was lunch at the Chelsea Arts Club with Leonie Bradley (editor of Printmaking Today magazine), hosted by David Ferry, President of the Royal Society of Printmakers (est. 1890). It was an inspiring exchange of ideas, laughter, and progressive thinking about the future of printmaking and collaboration between our organizations.
Special thanks to our new UK Representative, Hannah Fray, for helping build these relationships and strengthen SGCI’s international network.

We’re already looking ahead to Confluence 2027 in Pittsburgh (Oct 13–17), and we want to ensure this conference provides your highest return on investment yet.
Based on your feedback, we’re reimagining the Vendor’s Fair to be leaner, busier, and more impactful. Our goal is simple: Maximum visibility with minimal friction.
What’s changing for 2027:
• A Focused Two-Day Schedule: We’re condensing the fair to two high-energy days to respect your time and overhead.
• Public Access & High Traffic: Both the Vendor Fair and Open Portfolios will be free and open to the public, driving local foot traffic directly to your tables.
• Integrated Programming: We are scheduling dedicated overlap with Open Portfolio sessions to ensure a captive audience of printmakers is always in the room.
We want your voice in the room. How can we make your time more valuable? Are you interested in scheduled “Product Spotlights” or partnering with artists for live demos? We would love to facilitate the connections to make your attendance at Confluence truly memorable and worthwhile!
Thank you - Myles Calvert, President / Kellie Hames, Steering Committee Chair
Can’t make it? No problem. We’ll send the recording, but send us your email to ensure you’re on the list!

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
Prioritizes secure, anonymous browsing without requiring login credentials.
Users can view public stories by simply entering a username—no account needed.
Downloads photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4) with ease.
The service is free to use.
Content from private accounts can only be accessed by followers.
Files are for personal or educational use only and must comply with copyright rules.
Enter a public username to view or download stories. The service generates direct links for saving content locally.
