坂本龍一の過去の演奏データを、彼が長く向き合ってきたグランドピアノで再生する特別なプログラム。
 2025年9月、同じ会場 VS. で開催された「sakamotocommon OSAKA 1970/2025/大阪/坂本龍一」では、連日多くのお客様がこのピアノの周りに集まり、鍵盤に宿る坂本龍一の演奏の記憶に静かに耳を傾けていた。
2026年度はまた新たに本人の演奏データからセレクト。

Ryuichi Sakamoto: Playing the Piano 2026 – D

Using Ryuichi Sakamoto’s performance data, this special program brings his music back to life through the grand piano he cherished for so many years.

In September 2025, at the same venue VS., “sakamotocommon OSAKA 1970/2025/Osaka/Ryuichi Sakamoto” attracted many visitors day after day, who gathered quietly around the piano, listening to the memories of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s performances that seemed to linger in its keys. For 2026, a new selection has been drawn from his personal archive of performance data.

Cooperation by Yamaha Corporation, Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd.

Exhibition viewing is included with both RED TICKET and BLUE TICKET.

坂本龍一＋高谷史郎《TIME, TIME》

2021年にホランド・フェスティバル（アムステルダム、オランダ）で初演されたシアターピース『TIME』を基に制作。
『TIME』では、坂本がアルバム『async』で探求した「非同期性」を発展させ、「時間とは何か」という問いを能の影響を受けた音楽劇的表現で提示した。漱石の『夢十夜（第一夜）』、能の『邯鄲』、荘子の『胡蝶の夢』から着想を得て、一瞬と永遠、束の間の眠りと夢の中での100年が交錯し、時間と存在の概念を問い直す。圧倒的な自然の力に抗いながら力尽きる人間の姿も象徴的に描かれる。シアターピースとインスタレーションは、本来不可分な存在として構想されていた。
《TIME, TIME》では、坂本の作品において深い意味を持つ素材「水」が舞台となり、宮田まゆみが笙を奏でる高谷撮り下ろしの映像と『TIME』の田中泯の映像を組み合わせ、「道を作る」「邯鄲」「夢十夜」の3つの要素を3画面で構成。坂本の音楽が自在に流れ、始まりも終わりもない、時空を超えた夢の世界が静かに広がる。

Ryuichi Sakamoto + Shiro Takatani: TIME, TIME

Based on the theater piece TIME, which premiered at the Holland Festival in 2021.
Sakamoto develops the “asynchronicity” of his album async, presenting the question “What is time?” through a Noh-influenced musical drama. Inspired by Soseki’s Ten Nights of Dreams (First Night), the Noh play Kantan, and Zhuangzi’s Butterfly Dream, the work interweaves moments and eternity, brief slumber and a hundred years within a dream — challenging our very concepts of time and existence. It also depicts the symbolic struggle of humanity pushing against nature’s overwhelming forces until exhausted.
The theatrical piece and installation were originally conceived as inseparable.

In TIME, TIME, “water” — a substance of deep significance in Sakamoto’s work — becomes the stage. Newly shot footage by Takatani of Mayumi Miyata playing the shō is combined with images of Min Tanaka from TIME, structured across three screens: “Creating a Path,” Kantan, and Ten Nights of Dreams. Sakamoto’s music flows freely between them, and a dreamlike world without beginning or end quietly unfolds before the audience.

坂本龍一と、アントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンと長年活動を共にしてきたチェリストのジャキス・モレレンバウム、そしてヴォーカリストのパウラ・モレレンバウム夫妻によって結成されたユニットMORELENBAUM2／SAKAMOTOによる、アントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンへ捧げたトリビュート・アルバムです。
「イパネマの娘」「おいしい水」など数々の名曲を生み出し、20世紀のブラジル音楽を代表する世界的作曲家として知られるアントニオ・カルロス・ジョビン。

本作は、ジョビンの自宅にて、実際に彼が使用していたピアノを坂本が用いてレコーディングしたことでも大きな話題を呼んだ作品となりました。

Robin Schmidtによる最新リマスタリング音源に加え、海外盤のみに収録されていた、2001年に行われた赤坂公演のライヴ音源「Samba Do Avião (Live)」と「Improvisation (Live)」の2曲をボーナストラックとして追加収録。また、2001年のオリジナルリリース時には掲載されていなかった写真も新たにジャケットに収録。CDとアナログ盤（2枚組）で同時リリース！

坂本龍一《KAGAMI》日本初上陸を記念し、貸切車両のぞみ新幹線
「SAKAMOTO EXPRESS」運行決定！

6月27日（土）より、VS.（グラングリーン大阪内）にて開幕する「KAGAMI+」。
本作は、坂本龍一のピアノコンサートを三次元的に捉え、複合現実（MR）の空間に再構築した作品です。世界各地で大きな反響を呼んできた本作が、待望の日本初上陸を果たします。なお、「KAGAMI+」としての開催は国内では大阪限定となります。
この開催を記念し、6月29日（月）、東京駅10:21発「のぞみ253号」の1車両を貸切車両「SAKAMOTO EXPRESS」として特別運行いたします。
本日より、この東京駅から新大阪駅までの「SAKAMOTO EXPRESS」乗車券と、「KAGAMI+」REDチケットがセットになった特別チケットの販売を開始します。
新大阪に向かう車内では、蓮沼執太率いるスペシャルバンドによる生演奏やトークを予定しています。
なお、当日は、「KAGAMI+」会場の通常営業が休館日のため、参加者限定の貸切でお楽しみいただけます。また、本企画のために制作されたオリジナルデザインのヘッドカバーは、記念としてお持ち帰りいただけます。
会場へ向かう時間そのものが、「KAGAMI+」の体験へとつながるスペシャルチケットです。

The assignment Bertolucci gave Sakamoto was, by Sakamoto’s own description, three contradictions held in tension at once: the music had to evoke the mood of 1920s and 30s China while remaining unmistakably contemporary; it had to use Chinese material without becoming Chinese music — just as the film itself, though set in China, remains a European film; and it had to carry the melodic memorability of Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence while replacing its intimate, personal motifs with something of vast historical sweep. To find his footing, Sakamoto worked through a 20-volume anthology of Chinese music — spanning ancient to modern — and identified the most fundamental instrumentation: the guzheng, the pipa, and the erhu. His solution was direct, almost architectural: take those instruments and simply add them to a Western orchestra. The friction between the two worlds (East and West) was the point. The theme is built on a pentatonic core — Mi, So, La, Si, Re — into which two notes, F♯ and C, quietly enter. Those two notes enter through the pull of chord progressions, creating a modal ambiguity he found impossible to fully untangle. Chinese music, he observed, shifts its modal center mid-piece in ways that neither traditional logic nor Western harmony alone can explain. It was precisely this slight deviation from the pentatonic — this resistance to neat categorization — that he felt answered Bertolucci’s original brief to make it emotional. Jiang Jianhua, the erhu virtuoso who performed on the score, recalled meeting Sakamoto in a Tokyo studio in 1987: “He was very polite and humble. He told us that he didn’t know much about traditional Chinese instruments, but he needed them for the soundtrack. He asked me to keep playing while he composed.”
