The Pleasure Orb is a mother-archetype and also a refreshed modern update of the popular 90’s toy Puppy Surprise (“How many Puppies are there inside?- there could be 3 or 4 or 5”). This piece speaks to the complicated nature of existing as a female and performing femininity while attempting to maintain bodily autonomy and individualized freedom.Dangling from the ceiling— as if a piece of meat— while simultaneously subverting the male gaze, The Pleasure Orb’s only purpose is for you to worship or fetishize at your own leisure.
