And here it is… the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2026 trophy 🏆

This year’s award has been created in collaboration with @gomidesign - the Brighton-based sustainable design studio transforming waste materials into beautifully crafted objects.

Made from recycled materials and designed to be as meaningful as the films it honours, each trophy is completely unique.

We can’t wait to send these out to this year’s winners. ✨

What if fixing the planet wasn't about damage control… but actually making it better than before? 🌍

Our latest Charity Film spotlight - Becoming Nature Positive - looks forward, exploring how humanity can shift from simply reducing harm to actively restoring the natural world.

The vision? To be "nature positive": leaving ecosystems healthier, more resilient, and more abundant than before.

The people have spoken...and crowned their winner!

This year's Grand Prix People's Choice is RSPCA - England & Wales with their film 'Alesha and Roy'.

After distressing CCTV footage revealed Roy being brutally beaten, the RSPCA stepped in to rescue him. Now safe in a loving home, his story is one of resilience and hope.
Too upsetting to show in full, Roy’s journey is told through Alesha - delivering a powerful, emotive film that ultimately shines a light on his recovery and happy ending.

Founded in 1824, the RSPCA continues its vital work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals across England and Wales.

An incredible film, congratulations on taking the top spot and winning £10,000.

The WINNER of the People's Choice award in the £15 - £50 Million category is Mountbatten Isle of Wight with their film 'The Letter'.

In May 2025, NHS health bosses made a devastating decision to cut £1.4 million in critical funding from Mountbatten Isle of Wight – the Island’s only provider of hospice care – putting essential end-of-life care services at serious risk.

'The Letter' urged the local community to write to the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB), MPs, and Healthwatch to oppose the cuts and stand up for hospice care on the Isle of Wight. The overwhelming public response, sparked by the film, successfully led to a reversal of the immediate cuts, though negotiations for long-term sustainable funding into 2026/27 continue.

An outstanding achievement for all involved, congratulations!
