Really loving this @church_boys_racing front suspension package for Steve's Chevy II. Tubular upper and lower control arms, coil over shocks, rack and pinion steering and a brand new @ididitsteering tilt column are going to make her handle like a brand new car. And the power disc brakes conversion will ensure she comes to a stop in time. Special thanks to the boys at @detroit_hot_rod for doing the front end alignment.

I'm pretty sure I held my breath through this entire process. Not only because the truck is already painted, but because I had no guide and no template to aid me in getting the letters exactly where they would have been from the factory. This 78 F150 would have come like this, but somewhere along the way it either ended up with a hood off a 73-77, or an aftermarket reproduction. In either case, the customer wanted F O R D on the hood and the customer got F O R D on the hood.

Time to plumb up that Derale plate style transmission cooler. On this project we decided to go with nylon braided hose and Russell AN fittings to connect the cooler to the TH400. We were able to achieve a nice clean install using bulkhead fittings, billet separators and stainless clamps to keep the hoses away from the things that spin and the things that get really hot.

A little nip, a little tuck, a little bracket here, a riv-nut there and just like that (half a day later) we tucked this big fat @deraleperformance plate style transmission cooler between the hood latch and the radiator on Steve's Chevy II.

Ever had to put a 3D printed sway bar bushing onto a big Ole fatty sway bar? You're certain you're going to break it before it spreads wide enough to fit. Well, we found a solution. About 3 minutes in a coffee cup full of water in the microwave makes it just (barely) pliable enough you can get it on. Careful though, that sumbitch was still sharp as a razor blade.

I hate thread insert, but sometimes you have no choice. While replacing the leaky rear diff cover/girdle on this 2003 Cobra Mustang we found a couple stripped holes in the aluminum housing. In order to ensure the hole and the new threads were straight we chucked it up in the mill and drilled out what was left of the old threads. While great care was taken to ensure no chips ended up inside the differential we still ran it through the parts washer afterwards for good measure. You can't be too careful.

Now that we've got the VFD mounted to the drill press the original switch needed to go bye bye. Rather than leave the switch to fill the hole I made a quick switch delete plate... with some engine turning just because.

We are a classic and custom car shop in Plymouth, Michigan working on everything from hot rods and muscle cars to full custom builds and restorations.
We’re looking for an experienced technician who can also help lead the shop floor.
This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can diagnose problems, work independently, and help keep projects moving in the right direction.
Responsibilities may include:
• Mechanical repair and performance upgrades on classic and specialty vehicles
• Diagnostics and problem solving
• Assembly of engines, drivetrains, suspension and brake systems
• Light fabrication and modification work
• Helping organize workflow and assist in managing projects and technicians
The right person:
• Has strong mechanical experience with classic and custom vehicles
• Can troubleshoot and solve problems without constant supervision
• Takes pride in quality work and attention to detail
• Is dependable and communicates well with the team
Fabrication experience is a plus but not required.
This is a small shop environment where the right person can play an important role in shaping how the shop operates.
Pay is based on experience.
