Hi friends. My good friend @qquantumdavidweber has recently been diagnosed with ALS. As some of you may know, I lost my father to this terrible disease in 2021, and now it’s taking one of my best friends in the world. It’s been the toughest news I’ve gotten since Dad passed.

I met David in the film program at Brooklyn College in 1997 and we immediately connected on all levels. Like me he’s a father of many - he has 5 amazing children. We’re both born and raised in Brooklyn and only a year separates us in age. He has a huge heart, a decent golf game, and a great sense of humor. He has a wonderful creative mind and an even sharper mechanical mind - he can fix pretty much fix anything. He also likes a good adventure. Besides a bunch of urban escapades over the years with and without the kids, he was my sound guy and right hand man on a couple of short docs I produced back in the early 2000’s, including Pepsi Won. When others said “I’ll get back to you” David always said “I’m in.” That meant a lot to me as a fledgling filmmaker. He was always my brother in arms in that respect.

David is a proud Navy veteran and a member of IATSE Local 52. As a carpenter, David builds sets for movies and TV shows. Unfortunately, he can no longer work due to his illness and he needs financial support in addition to any disability benefits he may receive.

Binx, Binxy Boy, Binxanator, Sir Binx-a-lot
Binx was found as a kitten on the streets of Bensonhurst by a cat loving lady. The story goes he jumped from a 3 story window and his owner couldn’t be bothered to go look for him. When I met him at 6 months old he came bounding out from a bathroom where he was drinking water from the faucet. I adopted him right away and changed his name from Spike to Binx after the movie Hocus Pocus. Hurricane Irene hit the city 2 days later and we got to spend lots of time together holed up in the apartment. The vet gave him April 1st as a birthday. As a kitten he loved to go into the refrigerator, play with hair ties and a little hedgehog toy and climb on the window moldings. We lived in 4 homes together and he even took a trip to Boston and stayed in a Marriott with me for a couple of weeks. He had a brief but passionate love affair with a tabby cat named Tupac. Spending time out side was a favorite of his. Listening to birds chirp, bugs fly, lay in the sun or shade and the cool grass. In his later years he showered with me and wanted his dinner promptly at 4 and only drank water out of the bathtub. He had a thing for peaches and roses. In the winter he slept at my feet but in the warmer months found a cooler spot. You could usually get 3 pets in before he tried to bite you but boy did he miss us when we would go out of town.In recent years some of his favorite spots were the pullout couch in the office, the orange chair, the ottoman, under the bench in the dining room and the rocking chair. He wasn’t thrilled when we got a new kitten 6 months ago but he grew to accept him and they would occasionally be seen sleeping near one another. When Binx took a downturn a few days ago the kitten spent many hours sleeping and cuddling next to Binx comforting him in his final days. I’m grateful he got to see one more spring; the yard finally defrosted and the lilacs and marigolds bloomed, the clover grew in and the bumble bees buzzedand he enjoyed the sunshine.

-Annual balloon fiesta in ABQ again with @meganamyyy and @seth_gilman and Elliot and Oliver but also this time with Erica and the little kids in tow!🎈
-Twins first haircuts 👦🧒
-First World Series game @yankeestadium !!
-Hosted a special Thanksgiving with @samanthaleighmau @moogboy 🦃🙏
-Almost trampled trying to see the f***in tree @rockefellercenter on Christmas Day and it was almost worth it🎄😭
-Took the plunge again and this time E joined!🥶🐻‍❄️ @coney_island_polarbear_club
