Tra questi, la Marcia su Washington, l'assassinio del presidente John F. Kennedy e l’assegnazione del Gran Premio per la pittura a Robert Rauschenberg durante la Biennale di Venezia del 1964, momento che contribuisce a cementare New York come centro del mondo dell'arte per i decenni a venire.

“L’idea della giornate di studio dedicate a Germano Celant è stata quella di allacciarsi idealmente ad una serie di esposizioni che Celant aveva concepito tra il 2011 e il 2012, sul tema Arte Povera, e che prevedevano una collaborazione, mai accaduta in precedenza, tra alcune delle maggiori istituzioni italiane. In quell’occasione lui aveva visualizzato l’immagine di un treno composto da più vagoni che in questo modo avrebbe rafforzato tutta l’operazione. Qualcosa di simile abbiamo voluto fare ora noi per lui e se al momento si tratta di una locomotiva esclusivamente a trazione italiana, stiamo elaborando la possibilità di allargare questa prima ricognizione ad altre realtà museali nel mondo così che venga rispettato il carattere internazionale che ha sempre caratterizzato l'attività di Celant”.
