Hello everyone new and old!

Let me re-introduce myself

Hi! I’m Eva!

I’m a freelance 3D animator and director and I love all things colourful and fun. I have worked as a 2D motion designer for many years before switching to characterful 3D animation and Illustration after taking part in the @Pictoplasma academy in 2019.

I help clients and agencies to find the right visual tone of voice for their advertising scripts. Working hands on as a "one-woman band" realizing ideas from storyboard to final render or leading bigger teams as a director with @strangebeasttv - if it’s cute and joyful, I’m your gal!

Outside of work I explore the connection between digital and physical 3D through sculptural ceramics (once again making cute characters) and an ongoing project that is building ceramic Phenakistoscopes (which is as complicated as it sounds).

I love connecting with the amazing London animation community at meetups and have started to give talks at bigger events which is definitely a step out of my comfort zone but at the same time it’s also the best!

I will be sharing more insights into my digital work and ceramic explorations here. I'm looking for new opportunities and collaborators and would love to see what else my characters can be. Editorial Illustrations, brand mascots, packaging, sculpture installations, interactive content..

To get in touch DM me here or check my full portfolio link in bio

Little horse has places to be!

A digital phenakistoscope, a very old technique in which the animation is revealed by spinning a disc with drawings - or in my case 3D modelled elements - very fastly. Bringing together old film historic technique and modern technology, hand made analogue feel and texture and lighting flexibility. I will use this as a guide to build real ceramic animated discs during my AA2A residency at NCC London Epping Campus. There I can use the ceramic and plaster mould making facilities and work on my animated ceramic idea. Real ceramics take longer and are way more unpredictable but the results have the potential to be super beautiful! Feel free to check back from time to time on the progress.

For everyone new: Hi I'm Eva! I'm a 3D artist working in character led commercial art and advertising. I explore how to combine digital and real-life 3D with my animated ceramics project. My work is joyful and lighthearted, building little worlds around cute (and sometimes a bit weird) characters.

Did I make it too cute?
.
Two years ago, I designed and animated a Ted Ed video about how “Earth is leaking”.
.
I made earth into a cute character who is living through the different problematic events the VO mentions. Some viewers on Youtube got very attached to him 😅
.
This job was a steep learning curve for me and I enjoy looking back at cute earth and the lovely comments it received. And yes, the lava core does look like baked beans 😊

WIP!
Of my ceramic animated disc idea! It works! Yaay!
Now it needs to dry and survive the firings aaand i need to work out how to actually film it - this is just a picture taken with my phone + rotation added in AE
.
If anyone has an idea how i can make a disc spin exactly 2x per second and how to set up a camera to film straight down + what lens to use to avoid distortions DM me!
.
This will be sick! Super excited!

Good hair day!
Making hair or fur look good in 3d is fun- but a bit tricky
.
Tweaking one of the many parameters changes the whole look. I wish there was a preset library for C4D/Redshift hair and fur to make it more plug and play
.
Might have to build my own 😊

I love using 2D faces on 3D characters.

But: Is it possible to apply a face to any character?

Well, if you can keep the UV maps tidy, then yes!

In C4D/Redshift, projecting 2D images as textures onto your mesh is straightforward. I create my bubbly characters using the volume builder and then employ the Remesh tool for a clean mesh. After UV unwrapping the mesh and selecting the area, I can add the 2D face as a texture. This can be either a still or an animated face that I prepare in After Effects to align with the 3D animation. Once I position the face, I can easily swap the image sequence in the texture node.

This approach allows me to experiment with different looks while keeping render and turnaround times low.

It’s so fun to see how a small detail in the face can alter the entire character's vibe. Which face is your favourite?

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
