Eva : "My workshop is both for actors
and movement / physical theatre performers,
and for anyone who would like to express themselves
and explore some new, curious territory.
We will discover how physicality helps actors
to be authentic, and movers to be able
to deliver text in an honest, relaxed way.
How to open up and grow out of a level
where you are comfortable,
using your talent in different ways.

And gather strength to be brave and bold.
I will give you 7 basic tools
that you can use when facing a new challenge.

With my company, I created this style many years ago,
and this is allowing me to work as an actor,
director, choreographer, and teacher
through different cultures and countries.
Besides that all we will have is fun.

☼About The Teachers ☼

Viktória Makra and Éva Magyar are two Hungarian artists
with an international background, rooted in theatre and physical theatre.
They have worked and taught across many countries and cultures.
Éva is currently based in England,
working as an actor, director, choreographer, and acting coach.
Viktória now lives in the Algarve,
after many years of international creation and teaching.
They share a demanding approach to the body,
movement, and stage presence.

Full letter:
Éva was my first acting teacher. I first met her over fifteen years ago when she was teaching at the National Youth Theatre, where I was a student.

She was rigorous, mischievous, and exacting, but what has marked me most was Éva’s generosity.

This generosity lay not only in imparting tools for an actor’s process, but in instilling a love for that process in and of itself. This is a precious quality of Éva’s, one that great teachers possess. It is a quality that sustains us as students beyond the classroom and into our lives as actors: a love of learning, of searching, of growing.

I would watch, rapt, Éva’s work on stage at the National or with Kneehigh. And, of course as a working actor herself, there was a certain canniness in her teaching. She knew that finding work is hard, that it takes graft. So alongside her rigour for technique, I saw that Éva also wanted to build resolve in us—to give us each a personal incentive so that, when we left the classroom, we might find work.

I am excited by the acting school Éva will create and by the rigorous, curious, and resilient actors it will shape.
