What happens when you bring tech’s brightest innovators to Indian Wells? 🎾
An unforgettable two days at the intersection of innovation and elite performance. From hitting the courts for a clinic with the pros to watching the action from the stands, The Information House was a total grand slam. When we weren’t hitting, we were deep in conversation about the future of global sports: specifically how data, media fragmentation, and AI are changing the game forever. 🚀🎾
Thank you to our partners @ibm @pwcus and @meta and Grand Slam champion Madison Keys @madisonkeys and legendary coach Darren Cahill @dc10s for an incredible two days.
We’re still buzzing from the energy on and off the court! 📈🎾
How is Sam Altman different from Dario Amodei and Demis Hassabis?
"Sam is not really a scientist.”
“He dropped out of Stanford and he's a very smart guy, a great fundraiser, a great business leader, but he's not a scientist. And so that's very different to either Demis or Dario." — Sebastian Mallaby, Author of 'The Infinity Machine’
Steve Jobs had some very “direct feedback” for Apple engineer Matt Rogers about the iPod shuffle.
“He had some very… direct feedback for me on how he did not like certain parts of the user experience.”
“There may have been some expletives and then click. And, you know, we went to work, we fixed it.”
Early iPhone engineer and CEO of Mill, Matt Rogers, on OpenAI’s hardware ambitions:
“Eventually they're going to need to build the phone.”
“It's utterly ironic that, like Jony Ive, the chosen disciple of Steve Jobs, will end up building an Android phone.”
OpenAI has “a unique opportunity to transform advertising”, says Gokul Rajaram of Marathon Management Partners.
“They have search data similar to Google. But on the other hand, we also give a lot of behavioral data to OpenAI.”
"They can combine the best of search intent and behavioral data from the two best advertising platforms, the two large advertising platforms: Google and Meta."
Could the App Store become irrelevant?
Apple reporter Aaron Tilley thinks if they can’t figure out how to implement AI, “do they become irrelevant in this new generation of software, of AI?"
“Apple makes the best hardware and they need to be the best platform for this new generation of AI.”
In the Musk v. OpenAI trial, Elon was asked why he was recklessly chasing Google in AI from an OpenAI staffer, Rocket Drew reports.
“Elon was not sympathetic to the question and called Josh a jackass.”
“Dario Amodei, who went on to found Anthropic, presented Josh with a trophy, an actual trophy of the lower half of a donkey that said, ‘never stop being a jackass for safety’. And this trophy was present in the courtroom…”
Is the AI boom a "false positive"?
Brad Bernstein of FTVCapital on why current demand might not be permanent:
"I think there can be a lot of early adoption where people are experimenting and where the costs are subsidized and low. That drives demand that may ultimately go away."
Sam Altman finally took the stand in the Elon Musk v OpenAI trial and Musk's lawyer pulled no punches.
"Musk's lawyer... asked a series of ferocious questions about Altman's trustworthiness."
"He talked about allegations from witnesses... saying that they found that Altman was not consistently candid with them." — Rocket Drew, The Information

Apple’s App Store made nearly $50 billion in commissions last year, and AI agents could test the rules behind that business. Now, the company is looking for ways to embrace agents without letting them run wild.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
