While sealing the deal with a beer together with the older gentleman selling this beauty he casually told me the story on how he both started and ended with roadcycling. The start was him wanting to sell high-pressure-cleaners to a bike shop because it was his job - he tried so without success but successfully bought this bike from the store. The end was literally an accident: He fell off his motorbike while chilling on it in the garage. Word on the street said it’s a Atala but I always doubted that. The installed components are from a former eastern germany manufacturer which weren’t used by italian bike manufacturers at that time in the 80s. I never came to a conclusion what frame this is for real because I never really investigated. My initial plan was this to be the everyday bike as it was cheap and not too special. Being able to leave it locked in front of a bar casually picking it up the following weekend was part of the plan. Turned out it never happened as I wasn’t 100% happy with sizing. Sold it to a pretty mellow dude, had a beer and funny chat straight afterwards at a park as we got along well together. Prost, dass die Gurgel nicht verrost‘! #restauration #steelisreal #logbook

Pretty in pink Peugeot Bretagne from ‘89. I got this through a exchange with a similar so called „Mixte Bike“ for my partner in 2018. It was already in mint condition when we got it so I simply did the basics and wrapped a teal bartape to make it look even more like candy. Eve insisted on keeping the saddle from the old bike so she tuned too! After accepting that it has to go last year I put it on eBay, got approximately 40 requests within an hour and it was auctioned-off within the next morning. #restauration #steelisreal #logbook #peugeotbike
