Spent a day at the Roaster Showcase hosted by @showroom.coffee , an open warehouse gathering of small roasters from across NYC.
What I appreciated most was how approachable everything felt. Specialty coffee can feel intimidating when you’re still learning, especially with roasters that don’t have physical cafés, so having the chance to try their coffees, ask questions, and explore everything in one space made the experience feel really welcoming instead of overwhelming.
Getting to speak directly with the roasters was easily the highlight. Hearing about their backgrounds, philosophies, and approach to coffee made me appreciate each cup even more, and I walked away learning so much from those conversations alone.
The event also introduced me to so many roasters I probably wouldn’t have discovered otherwise, and it made me want to visit @secretcoffeenyc soon to explore more beans from smaller roasters. Such a thoughtful and genuinely fun experience.

🌱☕️When we first started forming our thoughts around WORKER, we knew that experimenting with a variety of roast styles was a core component of the work we wanted to do. 🌱☕️
By focusing on small single lots of in-season coffees, sourced with full transparency and intensive quality control in order to maximize consistency, we are able to showcase how roast styles and development modulate the flavors of coffees. We also aim to present the incredible work that producers put into these lots in different frames, highlighting characteristics and strengths that may only emerge through different roast styles.
Different roasts for different brews, tastes, and experiences, all while forming an intimate relationship with one single coffee. Coffee lovers of all experience levels will find something to discover though our seasonal showcased coffee ☕️
