🙌SAVE THE DATE 🙌

Xpace Cultural Centre invites you to the opening reception of our summer exhibitions:
𝑀𝒾𝓃𝑒, 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈, 𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈 on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 7pm–10pm 🤲🤝

𝑀𝒾𝓃𝑒, 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈, 𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈 is a thematic about togetherness. Here, we think about what it means to have, but also to reminisce on what we may no longer have. We hold these thoughts and feelings with us as we traverse beyond the self. We seek connection and understanding with others, forming collectives and communities with those we value most. As summertime is especially a time for gathering, communing, and sharing—we reflect upon themes of love and loss in the context of correlating to others.

Stay tuned for individual exhibition announcements next week!

📍Opening Reception: Friday, May 15, 2026 from 7pm–10pm

𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴: 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘱𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦 brings together three bodies of work from my ongoing research project 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴, which examines how online platforms turn bodies into both material and medium for endless cycles of production and consumption. Using collected TikTok videos, the exhibition reimagines these digital bodies through three abstract forms—experimental video, large-scale collage, and a projection-based media installation. Together, the works translate scrolling rhythms into a physical environment of loops, density, and pulsation. The exhibition invites audiences to linger beyond a single scroll, sitting with desire’s repetition while reflecting on (and resisting) the compulsion to consume.

The project and exhibition are generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.

📍Opening Reception: Friday, May 15, 2026 from 7pm–10pm

Slipping between states of presence, the previous feeling trailing into the next, and finding a future behind our backs. Grief is remembering a presence, remembering is forgetting an absence, and each lingering sensation welcomes a new feeling. So where do we go from here, when each day lasts forever, ending and beginning again?

𝘓𝘌𝘈𝘝𝘌/𝘌𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘙/𝘚𝘛𝘈𝘠 is a participatory exhibition rooted in repetition, spatial perception, and gestures of intimacy. Anchoring the cyclical process of 𝘓𝘌𝘈𝘝𝘌/𝘌𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘙/𝘚𝘛𝘈𝘠 are works by Winta Hagos, Trâm Anh Nguyễn, Bahar Enshaeian, Sabine Spare, and artistic duo Farida Rady and Darian Razdar.

Hyper-referentiality is the ultimate expression of "girlness", but the production of “girl” as cultural code diffuses the “girl” to an infinite dispersion of ideas. The ensuing search for meaning, leaves the once “girl” in an endless twirl. 𝘚𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 presents a site-specific painting exploring the grief embedded in “girlness”, aging, paint, and skin.

Finally, the last thematic of our 2026/2027 Open Call!

🐬 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 🐬

Increasingly our daily lives intersect with 𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. True or false, real or fake, misery or happiness. This can be seen relating to the rise of AI generated content, political propaganda, and a never ceasing algorithm. But despite all that we contend with, 𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 is also a tool of resistance and reliance. It is a state of unsettledness where the act of undoing is also doing. This thematic invites artists to explore refusal, failure, losslessness, and moments marked by trends, fads or short lived crazes.

Introducing the thematics of our 2026/2027 Open Call. Over the next few days we will be highlighting the thematics in this year’s call for submissions!

🐚 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 🐚

Between moments of light and shadow, there is 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. A trace, a quiet shift, a slow thaw. Fragility and vulnerability give space to repair and care, while intimacy is felt all around. Our five senses are heightened in moments of 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, ready to receive what is tenderly guided towards them. This thematic prioritizes gentle whispers over loud proclamations.

Introducing the thematics of our 2026/2027 Open Call. Over the next few days we will be highlighting the thematics in this year’s call for submissions!

🪸 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 🪸

In moments of isolation, it is 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 that grounds us back into connection and community. With our tongues untied we are able to participate, in dialogue, in the joy of remembering, and in chance encounters that elicit relationality. We are able to see ourselves in one another and flow between self and other. This thematic asks artists and curators to consider 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 as a site of building through connection.

Introducing the thematics of our 2026/2027 Open Call. Over the next few days we will be highlighting the thematics in this year’s call for submissions!

First off will be our annual OCAD U Graduate Residency that is open to @ocaduniversity students graduating in 2026!

🐠 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 🐠

Teeming with infinite possibility, 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘵 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦 asks questions of transformation, reinvention and completion. What does it mean to think of a before and beyond? There is an inherent relativity that this thematic situates in—a directiveness asserted in an action. And yet the outcome of this action is unknown. This thematic encourages OCAD U recent graduates to participate in a practice of unfolding, considering presence as a tool as they navigate the transitional period that is life post-graduation.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
