ARTIST SPOTLIGHT!
Sarah Folsom is a professional vocalist and teaching artist celebrated for her versatility in musical theatre, cabaret, jazz, and popular music.
Praised for her “comedic skill” (Broadway World) and “masterful” vocal performances (Elaine Diehl, WGUC), Sarah is a prolific concert artist, having recently appeared with the Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Opera’s Studio Session Series, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Fitton Center for Creative Arts, Washington Opera House, Vocal Arts Ensemble, The Jazz Series at Memorial Hall, and the May Festival Chorus. Additionally, she recently had the pleasure of appearing as “Fruma Sarah” in Cincinnati Opera’s 2025 production of Fiddler on the Roof, and was a 2021 Quarterfinalist in the American Traditions Vocal Competition.
An accomplished concert programmer and arranger, Sarah is a Founding Artistic Director of Queen City Cabaret (QCC), a musical duo that produces original cabarets celebrating the music, movements, and artists of the 20th century. Through QCC, Sarah released her debut album, Count Your Blessings: A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney, and serves as a resident artist at The Carnegie Theatre in Covington, KY. Additionally, Sarah has produced several musical activism projects through QCC, including a Cincinnati-wide music video cover of the 2017 Women’s March anthem, Quiet, as well as a week-long, virtual music festival promoting voting equity in 2020.
In 2022, Sarah joined CCM’s distinguished faculty, where she currently serves as Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Voice and MT Voice Coordinator. During her time at CCM, she founded the internationally recognized “Jam Band” program, as well as the Musical Theatre Community Outreach program. A CCM alumna with a Master of Music in Voice and certification from the Contemporary-Commercial Music Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory, Sarah presents masterclasses across the country and has students currently performing on Broadway, touring nationally, and appearing in theatres and concert halls across the country.
