FISH & SCRIPTS EP: 19 was a very special evening!

We had a woman in the building who has been a part of our lives for almost our entire lives. To have walked the path she did and still be full of so much light, Tisha Campbell, is more than a living legend. She’s a walking miracle, that we all are blessed to have. She’s a cultural icon, an incomparable mind, a comedic genius, and a mother.

But on this day, she was family. Thank you Tisha Campbell, and thank you Dani Wright for stopping by Fish & Scripts. The space will never be the same.

SPRING COHORT ENROLLMENT IS OPEN! That’s right. Fish & Scripts Journey Classes are back and scholarships are available!

In-person Acting Classes
Online Screenwriting Classes
Small, intentional cohorts
Industry guests + creative accountability

Last cohort included partnerships/support from Final Draft & the Geffen Theatre, guests from Emmy & NAACP Image Award-winning television, and actors from projects ranging from Michael to Broadway. Most importantly, we built a room rooted in care, rigor, and growth.

Scholarship applications close Sunday, May 17th with recipients announced May 18th.

F&S cultivates spaces and experiences rooted in joy, fueled by story, and something seasoned frying on the stove, just like home.

Jazmin Jenay Johnson is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, photographer, and cultural architect; founder of @blkflmmkr, a lifestyle brand celebrating Black filmmakers on all sides of the camera, and the visionary behind @hattiemagazine.co, a premium print-only publication documenting contemporary Black television and film culture.

Johnathon L. Jackson is a writer, educator, and community builder currently in development on a comedy feature with two legendary actors while also serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Fish & Scripts, a community-driven organization for creatives in Los Angeles. In under a year, Johnathon has led Fish & Scripts to features with CBS, Blavity, and Shadow and Act, built partnerships with Sole Folks, Walkgood LA, Scene & Heard, Center Theatre Group, and Sharing Love with Others. Fish & Scripts has helped to distribute over 1,700 meals, 350 blankets, 100 backpacks, and 60 toys to the Leimert Park community, because storytelling and service go hand in hand.
