FORMSOPHY
ROMANTIC BRUTALISM
Artistic practice by Alicja Prussakowska and Jakub Kijowski

We’re very happy that •Isen• has become part of the collection of @michalborowik at the @borowikfoundation 🤍
Created as a bespoke piece, Isen became an opportunity to further develop a new idea within our practice - a removable sculptural vase element embedded directly into the form. A singular, stalactite-like presence emerging from the surface.
The work continues our exploration of geological processes translated into material language.
Materials: Recycled aluminum casting, marble
Dimensions: 175 cm L x 35 cm W x 91 cm H
Edition: Unique piece
Year: 2026

Semiophores: Obiecta Animata
Objects are often understood as passive tools designed to serve everyday functions and disappear into daily routines. This exhibition proposes another
perspective: the object as a living presence. Drawing on Krzysztof Pomian’s concept of the semiophore, objects gain meaning when removed from use and
placed on display. In this moment, their function is suspended and their symbolic value emerges. Here, the works become Obiecta Animata—objects activated
through human attention. Their vitality unfolds through three stages: creation by the artist, interpretation by the viewer, and recontextualization by the collector. Through this process, functional forms evolve into collectible design objects that transform ordinary gestures—such as eating, drinking, or storing—into
moments of reflection and experience.

Aurea evokes the moment when solid matter begins to open - revealing a luminous interior held within its core.
Inspired by mineral formations developing within the earth, the piece reflects processes of accumulation, crystallization, and gradual unveiling, where what is hidden becomes softly present.
