belated banff appreciation post, some scenes and thoughts from the road
a few weeks have passed and i’m still processing the very deep and meaningful encounters with this group of stellar musicians from across the world
i have no words to describe how grateful and inspired i’ve been feeling lately; many thanks to the @banffcentre faculty & staff members who made all of this possible
i left this place with a growing sense of confidence in the process of making art and trust in the power we have as a communities to make this world a little less gloomy in these dark times
i also left with many more questions; the whys and hows are always on my mind, and i have faith that by investigating genuinely and patiently, the answers will come in due time
i wish that the platforms we use to share and connect with each other were not so entangled with systems that divide and oppress people; surely we will need to find answers to this question too among many urgent matters that concern the freedom and safety of entire nations.
i say all of this because the images that i’m sharing are a testimony of my personal search for beauty, freedom, peace, and i know that this is a great privilege.
some words (and the voice of Maya Angelou) that have been living with me: “we are not free until everyone is free.”

i left this place with a growing sense of confidence in the process of making art and trust in the power we have as a communities to make this world a little less gloomy in these dark times
i also left with many more questions; the whys and hows are always on my mind, and i have faith that by investigating genuinely and patiently, the answers will come in due time
i wish that the platforms we use to share and connect with each other were not so entangled with systems that divide and oppress people; surely we will need to find answers to this question too among many urgent matters that concern the freedom and safety of entire nations.
i say all of this because the images that i’m sharing are a testimony of my personal search for beauty, freedom, peace, and i know that this is a great privilege.
some words (and the voice of Maya Angelou) that have been living with me: “we are not free until everyone is free.”
belated banff appreciation post, some scenes and thoughts from the road
a few weeks have passed and i’m still processing the very deep and meaningful encounters with this group of stellar musicians from across the world
i have no words to describe how grateful and inspired i’ve been feeling lately; many thanks to the @banffcentre faculty & staff members who made all of this possible
