Medium Sized Backyard
An independent backyard concert series. Full episodes in our bio. Mediumsizedbusiness@gmail.com
John Rzeznik’s still got it. The Goo Goo Dolls’ founder and frontman is 40 years deep into a life in music and still performs with the passion and poise that his songs deserve, whether the audience is a packed stadium or quiet backyard.
Introducing the mega-hit “Iris,” he states simply:“Everybody knows this song.” Watch the full four song set, which spans songs from 1990 to 2002, on YouTube via the link in @pigsandplans’ bio.
In the @mediumsizedbackyard, John also embraced his role as an elder statesman, imparting advice and telling the stories behind the song.
MSB059 w/ @beneemusic is here. BENEE + her band stoped by the backyard and delivered a performance full of new songs from her album “Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles” and this super fun version of “Supalonely”. Make sure to check out the full set by hitting the link in our bio.

They live in a van. They invented a genre. Meet Crisis Crew. 🛻
Crisis Crew stopped by Medium-Sized Backyard fresh off the road, with their tour van parked outside and their new album on the horizon.
The trio met in New Orleans three years ago and got their start when their school bus broke down in a tiny Michigan town with nothing to do but play music together. They’ve been on the road ever since, living in a van, busking across every major city in the country, and building a sound they call Blue Gaze: bluegrass roots meets shoegaze atmosphere, slow and spacious and unmistakably American.
We talked about the New Orleans street music scene that shaped their sound, what it’s actually like to live and tour with the same three people for years, why busking still matters even as the cash has dried up, and the unspoken rules that keep the van peaceful (no more chicken bones under the mattress).

MSB074 w/ @solyamusic is out now. Solya stopped by the backyard and delivered an amazing 3 song performance of songs from her debut album “Queen of Texas“.
Raised in West Texas, Solya has quickly been building a name for herself through a sound that blends dreamy indie rock, Americana, and indie pop into something that sounds and feels very nostalgic.
She is getting ready to embark on a 25 date US & Canada tour at the end of this month, so make sure you go see her live.
This is “Tell me It’s Over” from her debut album. Checkout the full set in our bio.
