It’s about relearning a lost art of living.

I know I’ve been quiet on social media…and I’m trying to change that. I stopped posting when I left my life in LA and moved to Kenya.
I was mourning an old identity while a new one was in its chrysalis. That was 8 years ago. I think I just didn’t have the words, or maybe I didn’t need or want to share it. I needed to live it fully.

But I’ve been here long enough that I’m now actually excited to share it, snippets of it at least.

When I first visited Kenya, I came back a different person. Not in a cliché way - in a real, quiet, something-has-shifted way. I couldn’t explain it to anyone properly. I just knew I had to go back.
So I did. And then I stayed.
I left my career, my home, my whole life, to be somewhere I finally felt alive. Surrounded by animals. By land that asks nothing of you and by mornings that start before sunrise and mean everything.

Africa does that. It strips something back. You remember what you actually care about. What time actually feels like when you stop wasting it.

I’ve never once looked back.

If it’s on your list - the real list, not the someday list - GO! Don’t wait for the right moment. The right moment is just the one where you finally stop making excuses.

And if you decide you’d like to come with me, I’d love that 🤍

From the moment I arrived in Kenya eight years ago, something within me ignited.
A knowing deeper than reason - a home coming - impossible to explain. I knew that this was exactly where I needed to be and nothing else mattered.

I packed up my entire life in Los Angeles, where I had ticked all the boxes of a “successful life”, and moved to Kenya to embark on a new chapter.

I lived in a small tent in the middle of the bush, working on a wildlife research project, and it was the best time of my life. I learned to listen, and to immerse myself in conservation as it is lived: slow, unglamorous, deeply human, and rooted in devotion.

Over time, the land and its animals reshaped my priorities entirely. Protecting wildlife stopped being something I cared about and became something I was responsible for.

I learned to feel the weight of an elephant’s presence. To hear the roar of a lion - and know, instinctively, how far away it is. I learned the smells of the land and every animals call and tracks.

Kenya slowly changed me in the most beautiful way. Days are no longer measured in hours, but in light, in tracks on the ground, and in the quiet between moments. She reminded me how life once moved: by instinct, by rhythm, by listening.

Kenya is now my home. My base. My anchor. And most of all, my greatest teacher. 🧡 If you’ve reached the end of this…you’re meant to be there too. Link in bio to join the next adventure.

After years of exploring this beautiful country, we have shaped a truly exquisite journey, formed by the places that stayed with us and revealed themselves slowly over time. Far from expected routes and familiar names, this experience weaves together moments and landscapes that rarely appear on ordinary itineraries, and could only be curated through an intimate, lived in connection to a place.

This is Kenya just as it is - wild, generous, and deeply alive. Guided by those who know the land best, where conservation is not justa conversation - but a way of life.

Veja Stories do Instagram Secretamente
