What can the world learn from the Nordics about wellbeing and happiness? And what can the Nordics learn from the world? 💛
Over two days this was discussed at the Nordic Happiness Summit with speakers visiting from all over the world, and an immense amount of people attending.
It’s not about being happy all the time, and not about living perfect lives. It’s about culture, social connections and balance, about meaning, purpose and trust, simplicity, nature and the small things - like saying hi! 💛
But also about cooperation and innovative strategies, about measuring happiness and keeping track of how it is connected to growth, and avoiding the “loneliness tax”.
About working together. About aligning academia, research, business and politics. Because what happens to us, and specifically the future generations, if we don't?
Productivity and quality of life go hand in hand. Happy individuals perform better. Togetherness is crucial for wellbeing. 💛

First glimpse of the documentary I’ve been working on, The Happiness Equation. Delighted to share with attendees at @nordichappinesssummit

Really looking forward to speaking at @houseofbeautifulbusiness in Athens next week alongside LJ Silverman @lsegenerate and @samglassenberg. We’ll be discussing how to design a life worth extending, and what it means to live well — not just long.
🍋 And here is some practical information:
World Beautiful Business Forum
The most human gathering for the more-than-human world
When: May 7-10
Where: Athens, Greece
Five main-stage acts inspired by Greek drama, more than 100 speakers, facilitators, and performers across more than 80 concurrent sessions, organized into 10 immersive program tracks and 1 powerful community. They offer distinct paths toward a life-centered economy, developed in collaboration with guest curators and partners.
We took over @drumsheds in March in collaboration with @broadwicklive @alphathetaglobal to look at the effects of electronic music x movement on stress, emotion and human connection.
I designed the study based on everything I’ve researched, witnessed and written through my work with MIM and @profpauldolan + team have been analysing the data for the last few weeks and the results are VERY interesting.
We’ll be exploring what the results showed us about music and movement when it comes to stress over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that and on how you can get involved in more real world research coming up this year.

Really enjoyed chatting to @rachelburden_radio @bbc5live today about whether small talk is good for our health.. and I’m still searching for something to say on onions…
It doesn’t matter the topic, small talk is about the connection and the act of listening. Enjoyed chatting to Leila Nathoo on @bbcworldservice today.
Finally made it on to the news of my favourite radio station @bbc6music @laurenlaverne.
Really enjoyed talking to @kateemccann and @thestigabell on @timesradio about whether we are getting happier, the World Happiness Report, and nostalgia - you might not have been as happy as you think.

Following my chat with sallynugenttv and @jonkay01 on @BBCBreakfast this morning: any thoughts on the baby on board badges on @transportforlondon ….And anyone got any good ideas about how we can do more to give up our seat on the Tube?

On Friday we announced our most exciting and important project to date.
We’re conducting a large-scale research study exploring how electronic music impacts the body — physiologically and psychologically.
We need for 200 volunteers to take part on:
Friday 6th March
Saturday 7th March
Hosted at @drumsheds
This study will examine how tempo, rhythm and collective movement influence measurable changes in participants.
If you’ve ever felt music shift your state, this is your chance to help us understand why.
Feel free to bring a +1

I am so proud to announce that MIM is launching the first phase of a year‑long research study exploring how electronic music and natural movement can support stress regulation, emotional wellbeing and social connection.
Before the doors open at Drumsheds in March, we’re running a controlled, one‑hour research session in a private space. You’ll take part in guided movement to rhythm, followed by simple pre and post‑session measures. No choreography. No pressure. Just your natural response to sound.
We’re looking for 200 participants each day to help us build one of the first large‑scale datasets in real world environments examining electronic music as a tool for health and wellbeing.
This phase of the study is hosted at @drumsheds and delivered by @mimhq.co.uk in collaboration with @profpauldolan @alphatheta_emea and @broadwicklive
Dates:
Friday 6th March: 5pm-7pm
Saturday 7th March: 11am-1pm
As a thank‑you:
• Friday participants get access to ANTS
• Saturday participants get access to DRUMCODE
By taking part, you’re contributing to research that could shift how the industry — and wider culture — understands the power of electronic music.
