If you’re wondering if the dudes from Avenue Records can nail the raw sensuality of prime Free, then the answer’s no. No they can’t. Not really.

Big shout to the guys at who owned Avenue Records in Chingford in 1973 for this beauty. Covers of Life on Mars, Alright Now *and* Albatross? All with a picture of a pretty lady getting out of a sports car on the front? Delighted to.

Finally started reading @rspyoung’s Electric Eden last week, then found Constant Lambert’s Music Ho! - an attempt to show how, “the music of our generation is related to the social background of our time” - in a fairly well-preserved 1948 Penguin edition. For £1. Delighted just about covers it.
