KASHUAL HAPPENING
21/05/26 - 7PM at Selva
1329 Willoughby Ave, New York
Kashual Happening taking place at selva the happening includes concerts by Bobby Would, Paul Arambula, Bryce Hackford and Nick Neuburg and the Exhibition CONSTANT/CHANGE curated by Robert Pawliczek.
Nick Neuburg
is a percussionist/improviser originally from South Florida based out of Brooklyn, NY. Neuburg’s various projects include solo percussion performance, duo with bassist Brittany Karlson, The Great Link, Sam Newsome’s Trio, and Steven Long’s PRNCX among many others.
Paul Arámbula
is a songwriter living in NYC. In January 2025, he released a new album titled Still's Keep on Gilgongo Records. Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, Paul began playing in various projects from the age of 15. Namely The Chandails, Vegetable, Soft Shoulder, Mall, and finally under his own name as a solo act. Upon moving to Berlin, Germany, Paul gravitated towards writing songs on an old Yamaha keyboard/synthesizer due to its rhythm presets and "full accompaniment." This minimal setup was performed for years. Now with recordings that have expanded a bit beyond the solo-keyboard, Paul's songs feature more instruments and fingers.
Bobby Would
Pawliczek’s songs can be located in the company of the greats of Flying Nun Records – maybe the delicacy of The Great Unwashed with the heavy heart of The Verlaines and smartness of The Chills. But, ultimately, his interests are elsewhere – a heart-break song over an earthly lover feels like only the tipping point for longing and devotion that outstrips the personal. In this sense, Popul Vuh for their hymnal geometry and switched-on Palestrina, and Terry Riley for cosmic elation come to mind. The songs have sweeping and cinematic proportions and depths of field constrained by a pop economy love of leanness.” @k.c.gill @cindytheband
Bryce Hackford
is an artist currently engaged in perspectival work with sound in composition, performance and installation, extensively employing sounds that activate multiple senses, environments, architectures and infrastructures in which they take place."

First of 5 instruction work themed exhibitions,
#00 as part of @kashual.plastik ’s happening series
“KASHUAL HAPPENING“
Opening: May 21 - 7PM
Concerts / Performances: May 21 - 8PM
curated @kashual.plastik
Closing: May 26 - 6PM
Readings, Performances, Booktables
(TBA)
“Essentially, the kind of instructions we encounter daily are intended to help us assemble something with which we are not yet intimately familiar. Such are typically phrased or illustrated with simplicity and clarity, ensuring that the vast majority of consumers can navigate them… The fusion of mental or physical activity with an artistic concept became the central focus of the series and exhibition cycle proposed here under the title >Constant / Change<. This presentation marks the first in a series of five flux-inspired shows dedicated to exploring the theme of instruction works. Instruction-based art often utilizes written specifications such as musical scores, manuals, orders or recipes - rather than a finished piece - and invites viewers to imagine, interpret or execute, thereby transforming the art-making process into a collaboration... Some of the selected instructions remain purely a play of the viewer’s own imagination - print-outs, copies, notes; others are further elaborated upon through drawings, some have been realized using found and borrowed materials… The exhibition will inevitably continue to evolve during both the preparation phase and the exhibition period.“
With instruction works by
Dara Birnbaum, SeeVa Dawne, Gerard Herman, Takehisa Kosugi, Albert Mayr, Sol LeWitt,
Christian Philipp Müller, Stuart Sherman, Eliza Walton, Franz Wrakhowitch (…)

O Começo do Fim do Mundo
Vitão: a punk with a camera. Not a professional photographer, this is the only known body of photographic work he ever produced. His images capture spontaneous moments of his friends, on stage and in the crowd, experiencing what may have been the most intense day of their lives. One of his photographs became the back cover of the LP. Vitão was an original Punk da Morte from Casa Verde, and was assassinated with a bullet in the back of his head by local thieves he had confronted before.
These photographs survived through the care of Ariel (Restos de Nada/Inocentes) and Tina.
*Some images may have been taken by one of his friends.
