Summer Social Vol II

June 11th at our office on Larchmont Blvd!!

After a great night together last month, we’re excited to do it again and keep this tradition going.

We always love adding a unique twist to our events, and for this one, we’re serving up fresh crepes!

Open bar, good music and friends. Let’s start the summer together!

Parking note, the Rite Aid garage next to our office closes at 9:00 PM, so we recommend street parking or rideshare if you plan to stay through the night.

For Square’s “The Good Stuff” campaign, the goal was to create high-value, unscripted content to serve as a bridge to the small business community.

Rather than staging environments, we utilized a multi-camera docu-style approach to document real interactions inside active NYC businesses. Each location had its own character, and our focus was on capturing authentic moments between Kelis and local chefs without the need for scripted lines.

Our approach was to stay flexible and let the natural rhythm of each business guide the story, allowing Square’s technology to live naturally within the narrative. The result was a film that feels like a genuine conversation rather than a traditional advertisement.

Swipe to see how this concept translated into the final campaign.

Huffman Creative produced Square’s long-form film “The Good Stuff,” a documentary exploring the intersection of food and entrepreneurship. Shot across NYC, our team captured unscripted conversations about the resilience of local chefs.

The film features chef Kelis sharing perspectives on how small businesses thrive through community and grit. We are grateful to the Square team and every chef who welcomed us into their kitchen to share their story.

How we set off a fire alarm and sprinklers for our MLB commercial with @miketrout and @claytonkershaw.

This was was one of 6-7 concepts that we started with and was almost immediately thrown out when we realized there was almost no chance that we would be allowed to do the sprinkler gag and get a whole conference room soaking wet.

But I pitched the director @michaelchemaly an idea for a workaround and then promised @huffmancreative that I wouldn’t cost them several thousand dollars in location damages and away we went!

Big shout out to our Production Deisgner @sigmanu_sam for finding a way to build our fake sprinkler and to our Director of Photography @jdbelinski for making it look seamless.

And to all of our talent that we’re not only willing but eager to get sprayed with water and play our soaked employees.

The reel to the final spot is linked here!

Some places already come with a story built in, and Katz’s Delicatessen is one of them.

For Square’s “See You in the Neighborhood,” we had the chance to film inside one of New York’s most iconic institutions, a place that has been serving the neighborhood for generations and still means something special to everyone who walks through the door. To pull it off, we shot overnight and cast more than 100 extras to recreate the energy, movement, and rhythm that make Katz feel like Katz.

Producing at a place this famous takes real coordination and a lot of collaboration. Big crews, live environments, and a space with this much history call for a careful balance between production and authenticity. Proud of the team that helped bring this one to life.

How do you produce a national campaign across 9 cities and 37 businesses without losing the character of each story?

For Square’s “See You in the Neighborhood,” our job was to build a production system that could scale. We worked with lean crews, filmed inside real operating businesses, and collaborated across multiple photographers and motion teams to capture both stills and video along the way. The challenge was not just covering that kind of ground. It was keeping the creative consistent while adapting to each location, each owner, and each pace of service.

The result was a multi platform content library built for broadcast, digital, and out of home, grounded in real businesses and real communities. Featured throughout the campaign were businesses connected to entrepreneurs like Jimmy Butler, Killer Mike, and Emma Rogue, helping tell a broader story about the people shaping neighborhoods across the country.

During production for Square’s “See You in the Neighborhood” campaign, our crew traveled across 8 cities filming inside 37 real businesses.

Every location came with its own rhythm. One morning we were filming inside a busy market before opening, the next we were squeezing cameras into a neighborhood diner during the lunch rush.

Working inside active businesses meant adapting constantly. Customers were walking in, orders were being taken, and the day never stopped moving. Our job was to capture those moments without interrupting them.

Here’s a look behind the scenes of what it takes to film a campaign inside real businesses across the country.

For @square’s “See You in the Neighborhood” campaign, the goal was to celebrate the small businesses that shape communities across the country.

We filmed inside real businesses in eight cities, documenting the everyday rhythm of places that people return to! Each location had its own character, from corner cafés to long-standing neighborhood staples.

Our approach was to stay flexible and let each business guide the story. The result: a campaign that reflects the personality of the neighborhoods themselves.

Swipe to see how the concept translated into the final campaign.

Huffman Creative produced @Square’s national brand campaign “See You in the Neighborhood,” celebrating the people and businesses that define local communities.

Over several months of production, our team traveled to 8 cities and filmed inside 37 real businesses, capturing the energy and character of neighborhoods across the country. From beloved corner shops to longtime local staples, each story highlighted the sellers who shape the places we call home.

The campaign also featured voices like Jimmy Butler, Killer Mike, and Emma Rogue, each sharing their perspective on how small businesses help communities thrive.

We’re grateful to the @square team and every seller who welcomed our crew into their space.
